“A Great Hotel”
Reviewed October 3, 2011

We have just returned from a week's holiday at Costa dei Fiori and just wished we had booked for longer. The hotel is set in large grounds, immaculately kept, which lead down to a private beach and affinity pool with another large pool close to the hotel. We had one of the Hibiscus rooms which was set mid-way between the main hotel and beach. The room was large, airy with an appropriate sized bathroom with shower and a large private terrace. Housekeeping was a very high standard. The food was excellent with a good choice, especially at breakfast, but the staff were very helpful if you wanted something different.
The hotel is set down a long, unmade road so a car is really essential if you want to travel around Sardinia. However, there are two daily shuttle services offered by the hotel - one to Pula and one to a magnificent beach. These are inexpensive and very good. The staff in reception are only too willing to arrange these shuttles for you or help you with any queries.
Apart from a couple of shuttle trips we spent the rest of the week at the hotel enjoying the comfort and the amenities of the hotel. Despite appearing full the place was never crowded and there was always plenty of room at the pool or on the beach. Although set in a cove the beach extends either side so you can walk along it and swim.
We can highly recommend this hotel to any discerning people looking for a very well appointed hotel, well managed and with excellent staff. We very much hope to return.

Thank you for visiting Sardinia and for having appreciated our "casa" and its quiteness saying that the place is never crowded also when the hotel is full.
Sometimes, when a guest is so nice to start a new friendship with us, offering a coffee or a shuttle service is a pleasure rather than a standard.
If somebody wants something different, for example at the restaurant, we have the best occasion to show our simple but honest willingness.
A presto.

Me and my new wife spent 10 amazing days at this hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and, friendly and always welcoming. The atmosphere was always relaxed and we would spend hours by the inifinity pool. I must have taken 200 photos of that pool! I would recommend hiring a car if you plan to visit, as the drive along the south coast is breathtaking. It also helps to pop into the near by town of Pula for lunch or some evenings.

Thank you for the very kind review and for describing the staff as "helpful, friendly and always welcoming".
Hiring a car is also a good help to discover the landscape full of history, nature and authenticity.

Location is very beautiful - own beautiful beach and lovely swimming pool. Atmosphere is NOT at ALL relaxed. Sylvia (front desk) was unfriendly and unhelpful (did not help me or my daughter with luggage) because we'd arrived "late" - we arrived at 6.30pm, She even pulled a face at our luggage.
Bouganvillea room was small and smelled of damp - to resolve that issue, we had to upgrade (at further cost of Euro 50 per night) to a hyacinth room which was larger but overrun with ants. The aircon did not work well. The bathroom window was frosted but faced onto a communical porch which meant all was on display when we showered or bathed. Room was cleaned but room service trays left behind and patio doors left open which, given the amount of insects, was a bad idea. Room service staff were very gruff about taking orders if they were busy and trays were not collected for two days causing even more ants, bees and mosquitoes to amass - we got bitten badly as a result. Bees and mosquitoes were in abundance (due to location) and we were not offered plug-in deterrents. Bicycle centre was not manned and we wasted a morning waiting for someone who did not speak English (so even more wasted time). Food quality is average but given the very good quality of surrounding restaurants, it's no surprise the hotel ropes guests into going half or full board otherwise they'd have no food revenue. Fish was often not fresh at the hotel which is sacrilege for Sardinian coastal locations!
Positives were that restaurant staff were very accommodating as regards my dairy allergy and even prepared eggs specially for me. Bike hire staff tried everything they could to get someone who could speak English to help us. Room Service staff were very accommodating when they found out we were ordering RS because my daughter was ill, and they asked after her everyday thereafter. Anna on reception offered to help us lift our suitcases up to our room and back down again.
All in all, not a 4-star hotel even though it could and should be.

Room Tip: If you don't mind a smaller room and if you have a little luggage, then the Bouganvillea should...

Thank you for visiting Sardinia.
Although you liked the position of the hotel, we usually recommend visiting the fantastic beaches in the surroundings (shuttle service to a wonderful beach only 4 Euros one way).
Thank you also for expressing your opinion, it is a pity you didn’t say nothing to us during your stay, to me in particular (I’m the owner of this family hotel), when you could had changed your opinion about our service.
Maybe we made also a mistake thinking that you were satisfied with the service and received a reduction on the Ibiscus’ room supplement.
A good suggestion for you: in the future and before leaving, remember to communicate your needs to a staff member, which could be also disappointing, in order to give the hotel the faculty to show how friendly it is.
Arrivederci

We spend 8 days of pure relaxation wonderful staff, nice room and lovely little beach.
Only moan, please get the road towards the hotel fixed and fill up the garden pool with normal water instead of salty water.
We would highly recommend it to you.

Dear Guest, thank you for the very kind comment.
The saltwater, more expensive for us, is preferred by most guests for the swimming pools.
Thank you anyway for the suggestion.
Arrivederci.

The hotel was beautiful, rooms were basic but clean. The infinity pool area was so nice to chill in the shade or sun. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, their english was very good for the majority. My only critism would be it is very isolated you can't just walk into town although they do offer 2 shuttles one to the town and one to the beach. On our last day we saw a bike hire hut on the grounds which if we'd been told about this we definately would've taken advantage of, the staff weren't very forthcoming with information as we also learnt there was a hotel within walking distance, however we learnt this from another hotel guest on out flight home! If you want complete relaxation by the pool or beach with lovely typically sardinian food and seeing the same people everyday then this is definately your hotel and we would highly recommend it to you.
