My time spent here was excellent, the pizza was awesome, crispy and with fresh seafood from the territory of Sant Antioco. I seriously don't understand the negative comments. Very recommended

We arrived in Sant'Antioco at 3 p.m. and we tried to find the good place for the lunch (not pizzas or sandwiches). All restaurants was closed (siesta), and the hospitable owner of Hostaria Caligola accepted us for the lunch.
It was very delicious. All dishes was fresh and nicely decorated.
The staff was very welcome.
I definitely recommend this restaurant for all who wants to try the good italian cuisine.

OK, I am not saying this is the best restaurant ever. It looks like the average Italian pizzeria, with some phoney colums from the Building Market etc. The place, however is saved by owner Cynthia, who also cooked our food. And the food was done well and done with fantasy and care. We had antipasti misti, every part of it fresh and good quality. And then I had sword fish, more spicey than I had it before. So: thnx Cinzia.

I had dinner here in July 2011 with my partner. The food was ok but overpriced: we both had average-quality tuna tagliata (slices of tuna) which cost us 16 euros each, then we had average-quality house wine and some water. The grand total was 47 euros because, according to the owner, we had to pay as well for some kind of local tax...
Let's now say something about Cinzia, the owner. We were having a stroll in Sant'Antioco to look for a restaurant and when we stopped in front of her restaurant we were literally blocked by two of her waitresses who would have dragged us to the table had we not asked for a menu to read before making a decision. Then the unbelievable happened: a family of four sat a table close to ours asking for pizza cooked in a wood-fired brick oven and the waitress honestly said they didn't have it, so the family decided to go somewhere else. At that point Cinzia, the owner, said to the waitress: 'Why did you tell them we don't have a wood-fired brick oven! They don't know whether we have it or not!'. She scolded her waitress in front of us for being honest as she had previously scolded her because we hadn't ordered any appetizer. To cut a long story short, we ate our food as quickly as possible, had no coffee or liquor and run away from there!!!
