“Good, apart from the noisy neighbour”
Reviewed November 5, 2013 for a stay in October 2013

What a fascinating and interesting place northern Sardinia is. The apartment was also fascinating. It was so well equipped with glasses, crockery, utensils etc. to a far higher standard than we are used to, and the general decoration , books on the shelves, maps from the 60's and so on, and everything about the place suggested to us that it was probably owned by an elderly relative who no longer needed it, and that the family had decided to let it as a holiday property.
It is in a large apartment complex, hidden away off the main road to Porto Rondo. We were met by Giovanna at a nearby petrol station and guided to it; otherwise we would never have found it. Giovanna was friendly and helpfull; I don't speak Italian and she doesn't speak English, but we just about managed to make ourselves understood.
A car is pretty well essential, and the local scenery is spectacular, but a word of warning about driving in Sardinia: do not be courteous, because if you are, you will be pulled over; Sardinian drivers do NOT give way!
The only problems with the apartment were that the walls are a bit thin, and we had a neighbour with a small child that was awake and running around at 0600. and on another occaison the people above us decided to re-arrange their furniture at a similar time.
There is a bar very close by that does light breakfasts and snacks; there is also a restorante but when we were there out of season, it was closed.

“Basic but satisfactorily”
Reviewed November 2, 2013 for a stay in October 2013

We visited Porto Rotondo in october. The appartment was very quiet, even a bit deserted. A lot of restaurants were closed. But this was not a problem for us. Because there are a lot of kitchenutensils and a stove, it is very well possible to cook your own meal. Bring a dishcloth, because there is none. You can also use the oven, it works well.
The washingmachine was fine too. There was no detergent, so bring it or buy it. On the balcony is a drying rack.
The bed was ok, however the matrass was pretty thin and could be more comfortable. There was bedlinen present and also a comforter for the colder nights. There were also towels. We used the sofabed too, but were al little disappointed there were no sheets for this bed. I think when you ask the owner, she is willing enough to arrange bedlinnen for this sofa.
The bathroom is clean. The shower is working well. There was handsoap and some shampoo. There was no toiletpaper. When you want to use the hair dryer(or iron), be aware you'll need an adapter. The plugs are somewhat ticker and earthed, they won't fit in the power outlets without an adapter.
There is a privat parking space for this appartment. It is near the building.
The appartment is not on the ground floor, you'll have to climb one stairs. It was pretty hard to open the door of the appartment. You'd have to find the perfect position of the key before you are ableto turn the key. Don't leave your spare key on the inside of the lock, otherwise it won't open at all!
The neighbourhood of Residence Monte Maiore is very nice. There is a nice and spacious garden with walking paths and terraces. There are some nice beaches nearby.
The owner is very friendly. She understands english, but talks and writes Italian. We met her at the Q8 station in Rudalza. It is near her B&B. She took us from there to the appartment. If there are some problems of any kind she is willing to help.
It is a pity there is no internet at all near the apparment. We discovered that there was free wifi at the town of Golfo Arranci, but that was not very nearby.
