“Relax like the locals”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 18, 2013

I've just read the last 3 reviews below from IndigoSharm, GJohnston and HvH2013 and concur with all 3 - we had a very similar experience. Su Dandaru is fantastic; made better only by its host Giacomo. Bosa itself is a beautiful and relaxing destination to immerse yourselves in and, if you do, within a day or two you will indeed feel like a local.. The B&B itself is charm personified, clean and tidy with 3 great bedrooms. We stayed on the lowest level floor (forget the name of the room, its the orange coloured one with the ornate bedstead!) Very romantic, furnished nicely with a step or two up to the shower room which has everything you need in. The roof terrace has a great view of the sunset to the west and up through the old town to the castle at the top of hill to the east. All the bits and pieces you need are here again, other than a bottle of Malvasia and some Pecorino cheese (can be sourced 2 mins down the road at the deli!) In summary, a great place, great host, great town. We will be back.

Spent 10 days at Su Dandaru from 28th July - 7th August. Had such a lovely, relaxing holiday which was just what we needed. The B&B itself instantly felt like home. The room was cleaned (VERY thoroughly) every 2 or 3 days. The roof terrace is beautiful and the perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine or two in the evening before popping out for dinner; which we did every night!
Giacomo is beyond helpful; recommending secluded beaches off the beaten track, helping us with bicycle hire and even inviting us to a local gig. He met us in bosa when we arrived and took us to the B&B so was a very smooth arrival, which is just what you want after a long flight.
It was very hot but the rooms are all air conditioned and that is usually how things are in the middle of the med in August!
The town itself is very picturesque. It hasn't been invaded with tourists yet either which was nice. It is a quiet little town but there are plenty of restaurants and bars and enough going on between the old town and the marina. We stayed 10 days but could have easily stayed longer.
The café where we had our breakfast was great, lovely place to chill with a book and a ice cream and watch the world go by.
Overall a perfect relaxed holiday, would recommend Bosa and Su Dandaru to anyone.

Su Danderu is an absolute delight. Firstly, before we even set eyes on the place, we were met by Giacomo as we drove into town,he led us to the B&B on his scooter and showed us where to park, which we were very glad of as the tiny streets in Old Bosa were a wee bit confusing and I don't think we would have found it! Giacomo is the friendliest, most charming host you could wish for, nothing was too much trouble for him, and he always arrived with a smile on his face, in fact even when we saw him out and about in town he always had a smile on his face. As soon as he opened the door to Su Danderu we knew we had made the right choice in coming here. It has so much character and charm, something sorely lacking in all of the other hotels we stayed in on our trip, the attention to detail is marvellous. There are only 3 rooms, we were in Mare on the 3rd floor, which was a lovely double, and our little girl was in the adjoining single with its old fashioned bed and desk which she loved. We had a separate bathroom but all on the same floor and solely for our use. The beds were incredibly comfy, and it was so quiet at night, the only minor criticism was the heat, not that the wonderful Giacomo could do anything about that, and in fact it added to the charm. And if it did get to hot you can always go up to the roof terrace. We had a lovely meal up there one evening, the views of the castle and old bosa are amazing. There is also a lounge and kitchen which you have use of, which is very handy, especially when travelling with children. The cafe where you have breakfast is good, nice staff, we had a very tasty. and cheap lunch there one day. All in all I would not hesitate to recommend Su Danderu, we were made to feel so at home and I'm sure that one day we will be back.

Room Tip: Each one is a winner! We had a peak at them all and they are all lovely

We stayed here with our two teenage daughters and were extremely pleased with the service and attention both Simonetta and Giacomo paid to our booking. They were so accommodating - even sending a detailed list of things to do around the town before our arrival. The building has been excellently renovated and we felt like locals being able to stay in one of the pedestrianized, medieval streets. The roof top terrace is a great place to watch the sunset and have a few drinks. We had a lovely evening sharing a few drinks on the terrace with other guests and the owner of the building Giacomo, who is an incredibly friendly and enthusiastic local, eager to share insider tips and stories of places in and around Bosa. He is also a Vespa fan and even treated one of our girls to a spin around the town on the back of one of his bikes! We had a very relaxing and enjoyable time at Su Dandaru and would definitely go back and stay there again if we get the chance. Thanks again to Giacomo and Simonetta for making our stay in Bosa so comfortable and fun.

This really is a Special Place to Stay (as recommended in Alistair Sawday's guide). We stayed a week in the Fiume room and we absolutely loved it. Simonetta and Giacomo have done a super job in restoring this house and designing every room with a special theme. A lot of thought has gone into every detail and their love and pride for this place really shines through. The Fiume room is associated with the river and therefore has a green river theme running though it: Starting with the door (even the key), continuing to the wall paint, the light fittings, the wicker furniture and finishing with the lovely shades of the tiles in the spotlessly clean and shiny bathroom with an excellent shower.
Upstairs, there is a comfortable sitting room with some antique furniture adding to its character. And then there is the roof terrace - what a lovely space to relax, while away an afternoon and have a candle-lit dinner!
The host Giacomo was very welcoming and helpful and we enjoyed chatting to him on the day before our departure.
Bosa is a very nice old town with many good restaurants. We would love to come back and stay in Su Dandaru again.

Room Tip: The Fiume room has that extra little space which makes a difference when you stay for a week.

How many places can you stay in and say, even though the weather out of season isn't designed for a destination like this, we had a heavenly break. It was cold, but Su Dandaru was so cosy and such a lovely place to just unwind, that we could've stayed 10 rather than 5 days.
The beds were divinely comfy and the rooms, including the sitting room and lovely roof terrace were lovely places to relax in.
Bosa itself, even out of season was a charming place to be, and heading 'out' for a late breakfast every morning at the Taverna just added to the charm of the whole Sardinian experience.
My son and I will definitely be back for warmer times and I rarely go back to the same place twice!
Thank you Simonetta for refurbishing this lovely house SO beautifully.

Room Tip: We were lucky enough to see all of the rooms. It's a quiet cobbled street, so all rooms are quie...

In February I spent a few days at Su Dandaru with my boyfriend and we were very happy. The B&B was originally a typical local house renovated with extreme love for the details. The owner, Gaetano, speaks English and aimed to offer a good service and high quality to his guests. Gaetano was so kind and took the time to show to us the whole B&B with its cozy rooms, the large open space at the top of the building where you can chill out, read a book or enjoy a tea. From there you can reach the terrace and enjoy a wonderful view on Bosa’s castle F.I. while drinking a glass of wine during sun set. All rooms are very clean and equipped with a dedicated bathroom, a small fridge and a TV. They are warm in the winter and thank to their thick walls, I presume they are fresh in the summer. Furniture, floor, everything recall an old-times, typical atmosphere. Su Dandaru is the right place for travelers searching for something more than a place to sleep and I’d recommend it anytime.
