“Location, Room, Staff - Wonderful!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 22, 2011

Literally on top of a T-stop. Striking view of Boston skyline from room on the 22nd floor! (Thank you for such a GREAT room!) Comfortable roll-away to accomodate our third teenager - big points...and room for the rest of us too! Desk clerk, concierge, housekeeper, bartender - all very friendly and welcoming! This is our second stay at this Marriott and should we be at MIT again - or have any other reason to visit Boston - this is where we'll stay!
Parking is also very easy in the garage beside the hotel - connecting door from garage into hotel to avoid any weather issues, etc. $24/night to park is reasonable for the area. Many interesting restaurants nearby as well!

Room Tip: Ask for a rooming facing the river, skyline - 2204 has an AMAZING view!!!

Perfect location for a short visit with my kid to MIT. Right above the T, walking distance to campus and onsite restaurant and starbucks. Asked for a fridge and that was provided at no additional cost. But proximity comes at a price. Would've preferred the easier amenities of a family-friendly hotel. No low-cost breakfast, no free wi-fi and the parking rates made us decide to do Amtrak instead. Great bookstore downstairs and food court open everyday except Sun. Would stay again for location but wish more could be thrown in to make it an easier stay. Beds were Marriott's amazing quality, staff very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: a rivier view would be nice

Stayed here four nights on a business trip. Room was nice and I had no problems either with the facilities or staff. If you want a view, ask for a higher floor. The hotel has 26 floors. There is not much in the way of things to do in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, but the Kendall subway station is right outside the front door. I used it to travel both into downtown Boston and up to Harvard Square. If you have a car, parking will cost you $24 a day if you park it yourself. Valet service is more.

Great stay, front desk folks we're very accommodating, they went out of their way for a late night soda for me and didn't charge, that's A+ service! Two stops on the red line T to Harvard Square, it couldn't be easier.

I stayed here for 2 nights whilst attending a conference. The room was spacious & comfortable. The hotel is somewhat impersonal with staff all diligently doing their tasks but with little interpersonal interaction. Not much night life within easy walking distance.

If you want to be close to MIT (like us) this hotel is the prime choice. Metro station is next door, as well as Coop logo store and many other great places.
Couple of helpful notes: there is a hideous construction going on right outside the main entrance-so ask before you book! Also, no restaurant on premises, only Starbucks. Lobby is rather small and on a rainy days gets crammed with questionable characters. Hair dryer note in a previous review is correct: it works couple of minutes at a time... Still, bedding and service and staff are all Marriott great quality. Used the points for our stay, and if you don't book way in advance you will be stuck with $429 per night price tag.

Room Tip: room 1111 has 2 double beds, and we had a rollaway (not very usual for a double room)

I stayed here one night as part of a wedding weekend. Overall, this hotel is great, and the location is perfect - close enough to the city to get to places easily, right on the T but not in the hustle and bustle of things. I'd stay there again, except I'd BRING MY OWN BLOW DRYER! Seriously. I rarely review hotels, but I felt so strongly that these blow dryers, well, blow, that I had to say something here about it. My friend who I shared the room with could have repeatedly blown on my hair and made it dry quicker. I asked another long haired friend who stayed in the hotel what she thought, and she agreed, worst...blow dryers...EVER! So go, because the room is nice, the bed is comfy, everything is clean, the people are so accommodating. Just be sure that if you need your hair dried the same day you wash it, that you bring your own hair dryer.

Room Tip: Ask for a corner overlooking the river, up high.
