Owner description: The MIT Museum presents temporary and permanent exhibitions at the nexus of art, science, and technology, as well as events, programs, and weekend demonstrations. People from around the world come to visit and learn about holograms, kinetic art, artificial intelligence and original research that has shaped the world. FebFest and the Cambridge Science Festival fill winter and spring school vacation weeks, while the very fun "Friday After Thanksgiving" chain reaction event is held nearby at an MIT gymnasium, while produced by the Museum. The MIT Museum also has a physical and online science-themed store, and the galleries are available for small functions. Located in the Central Square Cultural District the MIT Museum is surrounded by unique restaurants, theaters, music venues and a renowned local ice cream store. Look for our yellow chairs!

Very interesting and unique museum. This inexpensive yet unique museum contains exhibits you will not see anywhere else. Many early stage research that has know become mainstream. Exhibits include both medical and high tech inventions. Fun for adults as well as families.

- helping you to understand why mit has got the reputation it has ;-)
- nice insights, updates and information on complex research subjects (artificial intelligence, nano science, robotics etc.)...
- ...made easy to understand for everybody, even if not having any science background at all

A 15 minute visit is enough..nothing extraordinary to see..if you get a free ticket and have some spare time, go visit it, if not, go do something else. The almighty MIT failed in showing to the common man what it is all about. There are some robots history (poorly exposed) - if you expect to be amazed - nope.

This museum was definitely a pleasant and interesting way to spend an afternoon. While the exhibits are comparatively few in number, they will each hold your interest for a few minutes at a time. While it might appear at first glance that the exhibits are intended for adults or teens, it is definitely good for much younger children if they are interested in robotics...or just fascinated by moving parts. The gift shop is filled with fun stuff. Another plus: calm environment if traveling with children (or adults) with sensory issues.
