Worst Brazilian. BBQ. Ever.

This is part of a chain, and though it's not the best churrascaria I’ve ever been to, the other location in Saugus is MUCH better.

This one was terrible! Like worse than Applebee’s terrible. (And i hate Applebee’s something fierce.)

The buffet is usually a co-star with the meat at places like this, but the salad bar part of the buffet was like a bad Ruby Tuesdays - lettuce, mealy tomatoes, a bit of cheese, cucumbers and shredded carrot. That's about it. Oh, right, rancid potato salad. (When that was pointed out, the waitress said "Yeah, sometimes it gets like that overnight." Wait?! What???!!!) There was nothing special on the other side of the buffet - some chicken nuggets, chicken parm (at a Brazilian BBQ?), some meh meatballs and not much else.

There usually are, and are supposed to be tons of meats, cheeses, olives, etc. etc. etc. There's usually lots of Brazilian specialties - here they had two stews. One FULL of bones and no discernable meat.

So, yeah, the buffet that looked like it was from a bad wedding reception is abysmal, and partly dangerous to eat.

(And i saw NONE of the "delicious seafood" touted on their website.)

Now on to the meat, which is supposed to be the star, and brought out in a "never-ending stream" (their words, not mine) of "xxx". They list 11 cuts of meat on their website.

The gauchos brought 4 cuts of meat out over 90 minutes. This included sirloin, VERY fatty lamb, pork ribs and sausage. That was it. With huge waits in between each skewer. I would have asked for more cuts, but a) i didn't know what they had, and b) no one ever came around to ask. (And it was a not busy Thursday night.)

The website promises "a seemingly endless stream of waiters will circulate with skewers full of meat,... you know it, another waiter will be offering you something new!" Yeah. That's just not the case.

The ONLY good side to this was that this place is cheaper than many (at $21.95 a person) - $24.95 on weekends), but what good is cheap if the quality is just as cheap? Even with a $30 groupon discount, this place still cost $75 bucks for 4 where one of us only had water. The others had soda -- and oh, yeah, no free refills on soda. they don't tell you that either.

Suddenly the ridiculously expensive $48.50 Fogo de Chao is looking much much better.

Location is a bit out of the way if you do not live in Cambrigde or surrounding areas. Service was not great, I only counted 2 servers in the whole restaurant. Sides were quite good, loved the plantains, feijoada, chips, and rice. Meat was of good quality, when the servers came around. Price was competitive. However, there is a silver lining, the music was phenomenal, live Joao GIlberto, and other Bossa Nova masters. To be fair, a couple of months ago I dined in Fogo de Chao, which in my opinion is the Rolls, the Patek, the Cohiba of churrasquerias in Boston, so that may have biased me.

The restaurant was neither good nor bad but for the price 22$ they could provide better quality: salad bar looked like everything was cooked 2 days ago and grilled meat that was offered: pork sausages oversalted and burnt, lamb was tough, pork ribs were almost either just ribs or ribs with small piece of meat, chicken breast was good, grilled pork was ok.
Basically we went to another restaurant after this one as we almost didn't eat what we were served. In Medford there is Brasilian place also and they serve better food for the price twice less.

I go pretty regularly for the ten cent wing bar special - great place to watch the C's. The wings are pretty standard, fried up and served with some dipping sauces. Maybe not as good as wings you'd get somewhere, but at 10c per they're a great value.
