Description: The Red House specializes in locally-sourced, European & Mediterranean inspired cuisine. Our seasonally changing menus features a variety seafood, poultry, and pasta dishes, many of which are prepared with greens and vegetables from our organic farm in Winchendon, MA. In crafting the restaurant's menu, owner Paul Overgaag and executive chef Marc Plourde have chosen to bring fresh organic foods and locally produced ingredients to center stage. In addition to our main dining room and bar-area, the Red House also contains three intimate private dining rooms which can comfortably seat between 8 and 14 guests. Perfect for your next family or business gathering, each of our three private rooms features authentic period detail, with fireplaces and original wide pine floorboards and woodwork. Additionally, we are able to provide customized-set menus for private diners and events as needed.

A fabulous innovative find, amidst a slew of restaurants here in Harvard Square. They have a fantastic beer menu, their appetizers are so interesting and the food divine!

I have eaten here many times and until today, found the food to be fine, but forgettable. Today, however, the crab cake sandwich and the berry pastry really were excellent. Only the decaf was wretched, and what's with the absence of spoons?

That said, the dining room is pleasant and not too noisy. There is outdoor dining with both sun and shade. Service is decent. There is better food in Harvard Square, but this is a nice environment.

lots of colleagues like the red house, and it's kind of a standard for dinners with visiting speakers and such, but i find it very average and too expensive for that. the food never tastes better than and often worse than what i cook at home, and i'm just a good cook, nothing more. the wine list is uninspired. the space is also uninspiring and somewhat cramped.

even though they're supposedly downmarket from the red house, i'd rather go to something simple and loud like russell house tavern or even grafton street.

We really like the Red House. It's a charming spot, and the food is good. Folks are always friendly, and the patio is very nice. Been going for years.
