“High-quality baked goods and lovely cafe”
Reviewed August 27, 2012

In typical foodie form, I've now visited this cafe four times in the past week. Needless to say, I'm a fan! First, the vibe is lovely and conducive to sitting down to a long lunch with friends. Great decor, rustic chic. The baked goods are pretty spectacular- I've tried the cinnamon pecan rose (like a cinnamon roll that exploded), brownie (dark and luscious), and apple tart (perfectly puffed). Their bread is excellent; I've had the breakfast sandwich, and also the roast beef for lunch. So far haven't gone wrong- all very high-quality and fresh. Delicious pear juice and mint lemonade. Quick and friendly service. I'll be back!

“Just great food and drinks”
Reviewed August 22, 2012

The place is in Kendall Square, a very hip neighborhood, with many restaurant and cafe's. I loved the way it looks and the outside seating. Since it's mostly a bakery, all the cakes looks great. But the real great thing about this place, is the food. It's so creative, and such a big celebration of all senses. Just perfect. We had little cookies, which I can't remember the name, but it was sensational, and a creambo cake. Everything was interesting and so much different that the "usual" starbucks pastries. The salad we had was great too. I think it's also fairly priced.

“Head Cookie: Tzurit Or”
Reviewed August 17, 2012

The head cookie is Tzurit Or in her new inside/outside space near Kendall Square. Le bébé got her first real bakery nosh, tiny butter cookies that are fist-sized for toddlers. Although she flings most food around to spec its aerodynamics, these did not go flying and she did not share.

We split a slice of Belgian chocolate mousse cake with a chocolate walnut crust ($6) and although we tried very hard, we couldn’t eat it all. We didn’t share ours either.

For breakfast there are eggs: find them poached ($9); in shakshuka, a North African dish with peppers; with spinach and onion ($12); and in a sandwich with cheddar and bacon ($8).

Lunch: start with pâté ($16), tarte tatin ($15) in tomato, onion and eggplant flavors; quiches in tomato, onion, potato and zucchini ($15) and vegetable frittatas. There are soups, salads and sandwiches; we are smitten with mozzarella ($8), meatball ($11), shiitake, plus kids can have grilled cheese with mozzarella, tomato and bacon ($6). I wonder if they’ll serve it to taller people.

Dinner has several lunch carryovers plus chicken livers ($18), mushroom risotto ($15), pâté, and three salads that fill your vegetable quota with wheat berries, apples, walnuts, carrots, raisins, mint, almonds, arugula, soy beans and halloumi.

There is an urban report from Jackie Mo that you can get leftover pastries on sale after 7 pm. Sounds like a plan.
