Its a good place to roam around with fun. You can have nice Japanese food say 'Sushi' and other varieties also and other food joints where you can have American,Thai etc cuisines.for your more grocery type need you have ' Shaws' and 'CVS' .many shops, book store to look in to and they go to your place from porter square T station. A unique thing is Red wind mill Which is artistically built to look like birds flying.nice place for casual visit.

Standard sorts of businesses associated with daily living. Markets, restaurants, etc. has a truly filthy red line (subway) stop in need of general maintenance.

No need to go here unless you live here.

Porter is right in between Davis and Harvard but there is not as much to do in this area/the "square" is not as cohesive. I would recommend walking in either direction to the next stop.

Take the Red Line, and leave your car at Alewife station on a Saturday. You won't be sorry. Just use the day to explore Cambridge and Porter Square is a good place to end it n the evening. Music is at TOAD and the Lizard Lounge. Plenty of dining options, including Mexican, Asian and Vegetarian. Sort of Cambridge's Upper West Side.
