The hotel is simply excellent - not a single fault. Spacious rooms, one of the best beds we slept in in a long while, parking in the adjoining Mall inexpensive - location is great - close to Green line, but also within walking distance to Beacon Hill and old Boston - avoid the more expensive and lower quality/price ratio downtown Boston hotels. Service was efficient and friendly - the breakfast choice was also great and relatively inexpensive. We will certainly return.

This was our first time at this particular Kimpton property. Just one night as we were in town for a funeral. Short cab ride from Logan to hotel. Lovely arrival area, attractive lobby and hallways. Very nice decor. Room was very clean and up to date. Great view of Charles River from room.

Without a doubt, this was the best hotel experience I have ever had! We were looking for a dog "friendly" hotel which typically means dog tolerant...but not here. They were spectacular!!! They offer dog walks and dog sitting and you get to meet the person who will be taking care of your pups while you are away. The staff member Kayla, a former vet tech, was absolutely wonderful! The rest of the staff were wonderful as well. I cannot say enough about them and this hotel. Everything was first class and not at all snobby, just very friendly and willing to help you with everything. Their extras were always a pleasant surprise. Every visit we make to Boston will definitely include staying here.

Room Tip: We took one of their specials, it included valet parking and room with a view of Boston.

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Marlowe for a restful weekend. Unfortunately, rest, relaxation and comfort were NOT what we experienced. The room next door to us was used by many very big men with a few young women. There was lots of noise and drinking. It was a wild party. We reported this to the hotel management many times, but nothing was done. When the hotel manager arrived, all he did was to ask them to be quiet. No IDs were checked and people kept going to the room. They were loud and boisterous and disturbed our sleep. People kept coming and were knocking on our door, looking for the party. Nothing was done and we couldn't sleep. We felt unsafe in the room because of this. The men lingered in the hall outside our door after the manager asked them to limit the number of people in the room. They didn't obey him. The manager allowed them to sit in the lobby. Then they returned to the room a few minutes later. Many bottles of alcohol were removed from the room and placed in bags in the lobby. The manager did not enforce any standards. We were terrified that something would happen to us. My wife did not sleep a wink that night. We left the next day and went to the Charles Hotel. Their management said that this should not have been allowed to happen in a hotel and that the first duty of any hotel was to provide safety for their guests. IDs should have been checked. The people should not have been allowed to go to the room, but rather to a public area in the lobby. After seeing how they acted, the police should have been called to remove them from the hotel.

The Hotel Marlowe did not provide safety, comfort or quiet to us even though we kept calling the front desk. Therefore we cannot recommend this hotel to anyone who cares about their safety and well being.

Room Tip: There can't be a good room when safety is compromised.

Wow, something is not right about this. I've been the General Manager here since August of 2013 when you stayed and I would recall something of this magnitude. We take the safety of our guests very seriously and I can assure you that this sort of thing is not tolerated and can speak confidently that it has not happened on my watch. Thanks for sharing.

We get to Cambridge often. The Marlowe goes above and beyond on accommodations, service, and cordial staff. The rooms are great. When the reservations were made, we mentioned that we were coming for our granddaughter's 1st birthday. To our surprise, shortly after we checked-in, we had a very thoughtful greeting package and present. This type of kindness and attention to detail is/was especially moving to us. Naturally we recommend the Marlowe to all, but this topped everything. The Hotel manager, Ryan, and front desk manager, Rachel, were and are always helpful, courteous, friendly, and professional! The entire staff deserves awards. They are good.
P.S. the coffee in the morning is good also. But do not miss the wine social hour in the late afternoon. We had a chance to meet and talk with other guests. It was fun and educational. Being able to walk to the mall without going outside is also a plus.

Room Tip: All rooms are good. but the ones on the front have a great view of the Charles River.

We started staying at kimpton hotels for my husband's job. Now we rarely stay anywhere else. The rooms are good sized. The jetted bath and bath salts are very relaxing. We love the friendly and helpful staff, the comfortable and inviting atmosphere and the location. The Marlowe is attached to the cambridgeside mall. This is very convenient for older kids who want some time out and parents who want to chill in the hotel room. It is also very close to the subway and the Boston science center. It is also a nice walk to Faneuil hall. We stay here several times a year.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor. And ask for room with bath if you want it. Suites are nice too!

Like other Kimpton Hotels, the Marlowe in Cambridge is very stylish. Lots of cool design elements from wall treatment in the public areas to the fabrics and colors in the rooms. It's always fun to stay in a hotel that so different (in a hip way) than one's usual living environment. It makes even a short stay memorable.

Our room overlooked the river. It would have been a great place for a walk or jog, but it was a bit chilly when we were there. The location is just across the river from Boston and near a transit station. The hotel also adjoins a shopping mall, which makes it convenient for eating and shopping. But it is too far from the heart of the college-town section near Harvard so you wouldn't want to try to get there on foot.

Some items of note: to get free internet access, you should join the Kimpton rewards program. That also lets you raid the mini-bar for an item without charge, which always feels a bit decadent. The Marlowe offers free wine in the evening and even some snacks (although they ran out of the munchies early on our visit). Also, the hotel appears to be very dog friendly. There was one playful pooch who was visiting everyone in the lobby area off leash. we were fine with that but I can see how some might not be too keen on that.

Also, take advantage of the welcome photo offer that is mentioned in an email confirming your reservation. Before you arrive, you upload a photo (e.g., of a child or pet) and the staff prints it out and displays it in your room. I sent in an image of our dog and my wife and daughter were really surprised and pleased to see his cute little face waiting for us when we got into our room. A wonderful touch that makes a hotel room seem just a little bit closer to home.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a river view.
