Very solid Chinese dining. The dining area is usually sparsely filled because all the locals get take out (except for Dim Sum). I recommend fish and pork dishes. Kids will like the fried rice and lo mein both are tasty and not greasy. If you plan on getting Dim Sum, get there early. The owner is very nice and super chatty.

Great find for a sit down meal or take out. The food is always fresh and tasty. This small restaurant on Concord Ave outside Huron Village is consistently delicious. The owner or her daughters run the front of the house, and graciously and efficiently attend to all the guests' needs. Be sure to check for any specials: whatever they buy at the produce market that day will be featured. The scallion pancakes are light and crispy, not greasy. The House of Chang Chicken is a favorite, as is the Baby Bok Choy and the Salt and Pepper Chicken. There is no bar, just wine and beer, but come here for the food. And if you are lucky, home-made mango ice cream will be on the menu. Don't pass it up!

We were in town for college tours and found this place on several websites. The food was great - the vegetables were fresh and lightly cooked so still crunchy. And, the different sauces were varied with the right amount of tang, spice and flavor. The owner was a friendly hostess who welcomed us like family.

What a nice surprise to find such a jewel of place tucked away in Cambridge. Wide variety of daily offerings - mangos were in season, so there was a mango main dish which was delicious and a tasty sounding mango dessert which I had no room for. The hostess provided information about the fresh vegetable selection and other tips about the menu. Our waitress was also quite helpful in our selections, explaining various flavors and aspects of the dishes.

The owner of the House of Chang is an experienced restaurant owner who created a space with an understated, calming decor. She then adds taste bud awakening dishes and throws in unparalleled service and gracious hospitality. Not only that, but vegetarians and those who wish to avoid gluten are welcome here, even those who do not like Chinese food (see the "Son-in-law Special")! The dimsum (on Saturdays and Sundays) features classic Taiwanese and Cantonese offerings. Everything is fresh, from seafood to veggies. The dessert offerings are wider than most Chinese restaurants (recently they offered organic homemade pistachio-apricot ice cream). Summary: Delicious! The owner acts as host and guide to the cuisine, and welcomes newcomers, although if you eat here twice you will be treated with the exalted status of a regular. No need to fight for a parking space in Boston's Chinatown. For non-Cantabrigians, there are a few parking spaces in the small lot behind the restaurant, and on Sundays you can park on-street with no worries.
