Great place to have scone and hot chocolate for breakfast. Look for specials on the column! They recycle too.

“Amazing Food, Long Wait”
Reviewed November 10, 2012

But totally worth the wait. It was the BEST panini I have EVER had. And for comparison, I have been to Italy where panini's were literally born, so this statement is saying a lot. I am VERY impressed. But the wait...ya it was very disorganized and long. So, I would have given this restaurant an "Excellent" if they were more organized.

“Living Proof that One Should Always Eat Dessert First”
Reviewed November 2, 2012

The best time to go to Flour is likely not 11:30 am on a Friday morning. But there we were, in line, waiting for two sandwiches and dessert to go for over 25 minutes. The place is packed with students and workpeople, and the mood is friendly, young, and upbeat. We had heard about the owner of Flour and were quite excited to sample the goods.

The menu looked good, although vegetarian offerings were a little unexciting. We got a grilled cheese and a hummus sandwich, both of which were a little disappointing, to be honest with you. The hummus was really good--a bit chunky, homemade--and the veggies were fresh but lackluster. Our biggest complaint was the bread--which we found boring and soggy by the time we finished. The grilled cheese, similarly, a bit unexciting and the bread did not suit it.

BUT, the silver-lining of Flour is probably where it should be--in the baked goods. Not being able to resist a sweet, we got a chocolate cupcake with vanilla frosting and a chocolate hazelnut cookie. Both were INCREDIBLE. The cupcake was fresh, delicious, and big enough to split with three people. The cookie was still warm and was oh-so delectable.

So, we would give the sandwiches about 2 stars, and baked goods at least a 4 to a 4 1/2. We have to wonder if the sandwiches would have been better for our carnivore friends, but for us they just didn't hit the spot as we had hoped for. Next time, we'll skip the sandwiches and go straight for the bakery counter.

“Cheap, wonderful, efficient”
Reviewed September 5, 2012

Lots of sandwich choices with so many different fillings. Ball sandwiches can be made as a salad. This is a stand in line, bus you own plate type of deal All foods are listed if they are nut free, gluten free or vegan or whatever. For those who have picky eaters there is a kids group of choices. Yummmm

“Delicious!”
Reviewed August 22, 2012

Stopped by to grab a sandwich and on a whim decided to grab a dessert as well. I ended up ordering a roast chicken, avocado, and jicama sandwich. Sounded simple in the description, possibly even bland, but I was craving avocado. So glad I ordered it because it was out of this world! Also grabbed a bittersweet chocolate brownie. Looked almost like a dense, flourless chocolate cake but it was so soft and fudgey. I was so full from my sandwich I left most of the brownie for the next day and it was still as good as the day before, despite just being wrapped up in the paper bag it came in (I was worried it might get stale). Definitely a great stop for lunch, and the employees are fabulous as well!
