We stayed at this hotel due to its location. My son was graduating Harvard and we wanted to be nearby to celebrate with him. We thought we would splurge on this special occasion and paid over $800/night. Instead, our room was of very modest proportions and never cleaned or serviced properly. Trays of dirty dishes lined the corridor and our supplies of bathroom soap and shampoo were never replaced, even when we phoned to ask, so I had to go out and purchase shampoo. On the day of my son's graduation we requested a wake-up call - it never came. We woke up with a start and had to fly out of the room without a shower and not at our 'best' in order to make sure that we arrived on time. The restaurant - Henrietta's Kitchen - is overrated and over crowded. There is no 'turn-down' service, which is unheard of when paying the price we paid.
I would highly recommend visitors of Cambridge to stay anywhere else. It is better to stay in Boston or at one of the less deluxe hotels. At least at the Doubletree our friends received some value for money!!
