“A treasure trove of animals”

A visually impressive array of thousands of taxidermy-ed animals, insects, etc. Plus some cool quartz. Don't miss the glass flowers! I've never seen anything else like them in the world.

“Glass flowers”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 4, 2013

Frankly, this is one of the most fascinating small museums I have ever visited. However, if I hadn'[t seen it flaged as a great place to go in a student magazine, I might never have gone there. The glass botanical specimens were astonishingly lovely; I spent over an hour admiring the filigree stamens and microscopic pollen grains, and was shown the finer points by a wonderufl, friendly and knowledgeable staff member. Thrilling and very odd. Recommended!

“The entire family will enjoy.”

Most museums are great for parents but bore the kids. HMNH engages and educates all ages. Harvard preserves an affordable price point. Make sure to book a guided tour of The Glass Flowers Exhibit.

“fantastic museum right on Harvard's campus”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 27, 2013

An intimate and approachable experience in Natural History. Amazing glass flowers get much of the attention but check their website for changing exhibits, lecture, programs for children and families. Current Harvard students are admitted free, along with one guest. Other discounts available, as well.

“Personal”

Visited this museum, it is co-located with another in an adjacent building that joins it. They have an excellent crystal display and the glass flowers are fantastic. Well worth the visit just to view them.
