The architecture on the grounds of Harvard University is diverse and beautiful. Make sure to take your picture next to John Harvard Statue and see the beautiful library, church, and amazing gothic dining hall/theatre building.

I had a few hours tip kill, so I hopped on the red line. Went to MIT and Harvard. While MIT had some very funky architecture, Harvard is just plain unbelievable. The old buildings and all of the architecture will blow your mind. I could've spent 2-3 more hours here......I will post some of the 50 pics on here.....I was blown away! Go here or you will regret it..

My family wanted to see the campus. I really had no desire, but I am so glad I went. The campus is absolutely stunning with old buildings and beautiful architecture. Memorial Hall was breathtakingly beautiful, my camera could never capture its beauty. I can't recommend going enough just to see that hallway.

Walked onto grounds from Harvard Square T Redline station. Could have used a campus map although we eventually found one or two somewhere in the law faculty. Washrooms and a cafeteria were in the Science Center. Lovely with the trees flowering.

A trip to Greater Boston isn't really complete without visiting one of the most famous universities in the world. Particularly if you're from the western part of North America, the age of some of the the buildings alone will keep you interested. (Harvard was founded in 1636) We wandered down the hallways of one of the older buildings, and overheard a student being examined by a panel of professors - in Latin. There are several good places on campus and nearby to grab some good souvenirs like the requisite t-shirt or hoodie.
A tip: if you want the true student experience, schedule your visit over lunch, and eat in the freshmen's cafeteria. Online reviews of the food rate it as good/not great. These are obviously people who haven't gone to school elsewhere; by cafeteria standards it's above par. The attraction is the room itself, called the Memorial Hall, built to honor the Harvard Alumni who perished during the American Civil War in defence of the Union. It's quite the building, and the meal is reasonably priced.
