The oldest University in America. Walk through the Yard, look at the buildings, sense the history. Lots of public art on display - sculpture, architecture.

As a visitor to Boston/Cambridge it is worthwhile to take one of the walking tours of Harvard University. We took an unofficial tour that was run by a group of Harvard students (its free, but tips are suggested). The students gave us a very interesting overview of the campus and the history of the university buildings as well as several funny incidents along the way. If you cannot take the tour, a simple walk through the campus is nice to get a feel of the institution. Afterwards a walk through Harvard Square, and a visit to the Harvard Coop is a must.

For a tourist spending just a short time here, it is worthwhile to go on one of the free tours conducted by students. We had a very bad weather yet the young lady leading the tour managed to keep us all interested. Afterwards, we went to the Carpenter Center for Visual Arts - the only building in the US designed by Le Corbusier.

It seems that you are in some american movie when you visit Harvard. Beautiful place with a lot of green and great landscape. After visiting the university you can across the street and drink a coffee in starbucks or walk in harvard square and buy some gifts.

If you were a kid accepted to Harvard, you'd be crazy not to go. The cream of the crop for a reason...excellent faculty, staff and students...academic opportunities abound. Stellar alumni. Simply the best.
