“A Gem by the Sea”

What a trip, we are already counting down the days to our next visit. Annemarie and the family are brilliant hosts, they had wine chilling in the fridge and some sweets for the children. The cottage itself is a lovely cosy home with all facilities needed, cooker, fridge, freezer etc.. We were blessed with fab weather and spent our days exploring the beach, Muckross head and slieve league, simply blissful!! I would highly recommend Sea View cottage if you are looking for a quiet and peaceful break with breath taking scenery. Thanks a million Anne, we will definitely see you soon. Rosemary & Family

“Perfect little bungalow by the beach”
Reviewed May 18, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights 7th-9th May 2016 along with our 5 month baby and 2 small terrier dogs.

Sea View Cottage is exactly as it looks in TripAdvisor photos. The directions provided by the owner were excellent and we had no trouble finding the place.

When booking, we wanted something small, remote, by the sea, and pet friendly. Sea View Cottage did not disappoint! The cottage is placed on a small farm yard close to the owners house. The location paints life in rural Donegal perfectly with cattle and sheep in the surrounding fields.

Muckross head is a beautiful part of the Donegal coastline and sits directly on the Wild Altantic Way. There is a beautiful little beach less than 200m walk from the cottage. It is very well enclosed and protected from atlantic winds which makes it warm and ideal for children to spend a few days building sand castles. There is another beach close by but was not easily accessible (even on foot). We were also advised by the owners that the beach is dangerous with sinking sands and is primarily used by surfers.

The bungalow itself is beautiful. A kitchen fitted with all the necessary equipment makes a self catering holiday very comfortable. We loved sitting in front of the turf fire with a glass of wine to really relax and unwind. The owners very kindly left a bottle of wine and a few beers in the fridge. My only negative comment is that the bed mattresses are a little uncomfortable and too soft for our liking. Other than that, the place is perfect.

“Best Ever Trip to Donegal”

Having had holidays in Donegal for over 15 years and really enjoying them, this was the best ever. The cottage was spotless and had everything one could think of needing. The family were so friendly, leaving us to our own devices, yet chatting warmly when we approached them. The scenery is magnificent. The beach nearby, being almost private, was only a short walk away. I would willingly recommend this cottage to anyone and will definately be returning again with my family.

“Fantastic as always”

This was our fourth visit to the cottage and yet again we loved it. Such beautiful views, friendly people and not so bad weather! Really recommend a trip to Mocklers Tea Room in Kilcar for a wee sweet treat or fab brunch then on Friday evening the best fish and chips around. A short drive to Killybegs has Mrs B's Coffee shop which is just as beautiful for breakfast, snacks or sweet tooth. If you have younger children a drive to Letterkenny has a wonderful Day trip place called Tropical World where children can see lots of different animals and they have a covered play area and picnic facilites to make a day of it. Then if you fancy amusements for the family a drive to Bundoran has it all. Perfect place to stay for peace and quiet but central to many other facilities. The family beach is a must - just remember your bucket and spade :) The Bryne family are very welcoming and great hosts - recommend you to try the cottage, you wont be disappointed!
