“Good food, service & value”
Reviewed July 15, 2012 via mobile

Ate here twice last week and would recommend it. Good local produce, simply cooked. You can bring your own wine and there's no corkage. If you've kids they'll give you colouring books & crayons.

“Overpriced,average food”
Reviewed July 6, 2012

My family visited this restaurant recently as there is only 2 restaurants in Mountshannon and having read reviews on Tripadvisor which were generally favourable.
It is a small establishment, decor is quaint.Waitress was friendly and had no problem with the fact we had brought our own wine.Their wine list prices were unbelievable in this recessionary times charging 27 euro for a bottle of wine is outrageous. The food was nothing special, My curry had 5 pieces of chicken whilst my partner had about 12 pieces !!! One of our party ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara which was bland and tasteless,We waited 5 minutes, hoping she would come back to us with black pepper or cheese for the pasta, didnt happen. It was colourless, and tasteless The sea food chowder starter contained minute pieces of fish. Very disappointing One saving grace was that dessert was nice. Our bill came to 60.00 euro for a very disappointing meal.
As we left a group of 8 people arrived at 8.30 looking to eat, much to the annoyance of the waitress, who curtly informed them that they closed at 9!!
I won't be returning,

“Cosy”
Reviewed June 5, 2012

This small restaurant is home to great cooking and friendly and attentive staff. There are only a small number of tables, so it would probably be best to ring ahead during high season.
I had the steak; it was cooked to perfection and served with a huge portion of fresh vegetables.
We brought our own wine and were not charged corkage.

We both felt that the price reflected accurately the quality of ingredients and preparation.
Definitely recommended for those staying in the area.
