“Best Guides/Tour Company in Iceland”
Reviewed December 1, 2013

My wife and I took several tours with South Iceland Adventure - they were the excellent and I highly recommend that you book your tours through them. We took tours with other companies while we were in Iceland, but they did not come close to these guys. The guides were very knowledgeable and the tours were exciting and safe. The guides know South Iceland and can adapt the tours to suit your interests and physical condition (we hiked up a mountain which was excellent and challenging). They can also adapt the tours on the fly in response to the Icelandic weather conditions, which are constantly changing (bring waterproof/water resistant clothing). We will definitely be on more tours with South Iceland Adventure and I'm recommending them to my friends and family. One tip - If you're interested in seeing the natural beauty of Iceland spend a day or less in Reykjavik and the rest of your vacation with these guys.

“2 amazing trips”
Reviewed November 29, 2013

We enjoyed 2 amazing superjeep trips with South Iceland Adventures. We booked based on the Trip advisor reports and were not disappointed: Addi and Steiner worked so hard to give us really memorable trips in the most spectacular scenery of Southern Iceland.

Addi took us out to the Hekla region. The scenery was incredible and we didn't see a soul while we were driving in the area. The snow was incredibly thick which required very skilful driving from Addi and a little bit of digging out from us at one stage. Our children, 9 and 11, enjoyed some time playing in the snow and we got some amazing photographics of the scenery. It was too windy to do any walking so most of the day was driving and admiring the spectacular views.

Steiner took us to the Thorsmork region which was also stunning. He helped us cross small rivers to get a better view of the bottom of a glacier and led us up a valley and over boulders to find a hidden waterfall which we would never have found by ourselves. He was incredibly knowledgeable of the geology and history and we learnt so much from him. We enjoyed several short walks in the valley and again felt we had the whole place almost to ourselves. These superjeeps can take you places ordinary cars cannot reach. Steiner learnt we were particularly interested in Eyjafjallajökull and rang up the museum owner to find out if we could visit (at some times of the year it only opens up for pre arranged visits). This museum was set up by a family who lived very close to the 2010 volcano (E- 15) and features a particularly good film of the events surrounding the eruption. We were very fortunate to be able to visit.

We were picked up from hotel Ranga but at the end of the day Steiner dropped us at the Blue Lagoon. He did a huge amount of driving for us that day but remained cheerful and informative and genuinely concerned that we have a fabulous time.

We would highly recommend this company if you visit the South of Iceland... the guides are fabulous!

“Great day today with SIA and our guide Steiner.”
Reviewed November 27, 2013

We had a great trip today. Steiner picked us up at our hotel at 10:00. We stopped at a local store to pick up lunch and then we were off on a day of adventure. The sights were great. Any guide could show you those. It was great to be with Steiner because he had a very low key way of telling us everything about what we were seeing and he ha a great sense of humor. He was very proud of being from Iceland.

We did some river crossing in the Super Jeeps. He made it fun and safe at the same time

“Beyond our expectations”
Reviewed November 16, 2013

Planning a trip to the UK from the USA we decided to stop off in Iceland with Icelandair hoping to see the Northern Lights - 4 friends decided to join us so I was left to plan our trip - but what to do during the day in November?
I had no idea how many hours of daylight we would be getting, what the weather would be like, what we could realistically plan to do.
South Iceland Adventure put it all together for me so we had 4 days packed with fun, exploring southern Iceland in their super jeep with our guide. It felt more like traveling with a friend than a commercial trip and the days' activities were planned around our and our friend's interests and limitations and adapted as the weather changed.
Wonderful scenery, lots of interest, a bit of adventure and a jeep full of laughter - what more could we want? Thank you Siggy and Steiner!

“The best!”
Reviewed November 13, 2013

My husband and I just returned from Iceland. We cannot stop talking about our visit or SIA. We originally had 2 days booked with SIA but then added on an extra day. The guides were the best we have ever had in our travels. We spent 2 days with Siggy and came home feeling as if we had made a new friend. The focus of the trips was for us to see and enjoy Iceland. They made everything appear effortless. SIA will tailor the activities to your physical level though both Siggy and Steffnir (our guides) were used to very high physical activities. They knew the history and geology plus understood Iceland's role in the world for energy development. SIA took our trip experience from a good one to over the top awesome.
