We traveled around the Ring Road and the UMI Hotel was one of our favorites! Really cool vibe, very friendly, the room was very clean and the beds comfortable. I ate dinner in their restaurant and enjoyed the best bowl of lobster soup ever, yum! Their breakfast spread was very nice too. Great views. You can't go wrong with a stay here!

It is beautiful: a stark modern design in a quiet field with a view of snow capped mountains and the sea. The lobby and interior rooms are also beautiful and posh.

Here comes the "but": the mattress (while comfortable) only had a sheet on it, no pad. You could see the mattress pattern and feel the texture of it. On night 2, the water started pulsing on and off. They sent staff, who thought it was a problem in our room, but, we told him it was a system problem in the building. He did manage to fix the pump and 30 minutes later it was normal again.

Less than an hour later, we lost WiFi and TV. Another walk to the front desk where the staff quickly responded and started resetting all the routers and got TV going, but we want to sleep with emails unsent.

Again, great location, nice staff, and beautiful, but not worth $400/night.

The breakfast buffet was good, but the dinner menu was really pricey.
