Myself and my boyfriend booked this hotel as a friend had recommended it to us. The hotel itself is like an old horse ranch so there is a lot of wood and a long corridor with the rooms coming off it... oh and a polar bear! We had a room which faced towards the hot tubs. We got in to one of these tubs which are lovely and warm. The only problem was getting out of the warm water in to the cold! The little slope down to them was slippery too so I would suggest walking on the grass part of the slope.
On our first night here we had dinner in the hotel, as we waited to be seated there was a bit of a commotion as the Northern Lights had come out so everyone ran out to see them! When we had dinner the service was impeccable and the food was amazing too! We had puffin, reindeer and beef and it was gorgeous. I would recommend eating here when you stay at least once. Whilst having dinner the hotel owner/manager came round to see us and check everything was fine which was really nice.
The hotel receptionist's were really helpful and when we needed to talk to our car hire company they happily phoned them and sorted out our issue which was really great.
It was an experience staying here and I would recommend the hotel to a friend and if/when I come back to Iceland I will be staying here again! Thanks for a great stay.
