Best place to stay near at Blue lagoon is Silica, modern super modern by North American standard, bathrooms are beautiful, service top notch so is breakfast. They have there own lagoon 2 minutes walk from your room. It is truly a dream place, but open your wallet , but still worth it. Everything clean and neat

Room tip: all good room

Loved our stay here for one night. It's expensive at $540 per night. Pool is open until midnight. Small menu for food. And you get free admission to the Blue Lagoon if you want. Breakfast was nice with a good selection. The Blue Lagoon products are obscenely overpriced. Don't waste your money on them. The staff was kind and friendly.

My Boyfriend and I stayed at Silica Hotel for 1 night in Jan 2017. The hotel was beautiful! It fitted so well into its surroundings and was the perfect base for us to visit the Blue Lagoon.

The hotel is quite expensive however within the cost you get one visit to the Blue Lagoon so if you were planning a visit there anyway then that makes the price seem more reasonable. The Blue Lagoon is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel and the scenery on the way is out of this world, so tranquil and just like nothing I had ever seen before!

Our bedroom was lovely and spacious. It was modern and clean with a very Scandic feel. There was a large sliding door to the outside (the hotel is on one floor) perfect for if the Northern Lights make an appearance!

The hotel has a private Lagoon which was absolute Bliss. We were the only ones in it for most of the time which was so relaxing (compared to the tourist trap that is the Blue Lagoon!) it is open late into the evening which is pretty cool if you fancy a dip after dinner. There were mud masks available too (free of charge)
We walked up to Lava (restaurant onsite at the Blue Lagoon) for dinner and I was a little disappointed with that as it was expensive and the food wasn’t as nice as we had elsewhere, however that was my only complaint (and not actually anything to do with the hotel)

We had an early check-out (pre-breakfast service) so reception had little takeaway breakfast boxes for each of us which was a nice touch.

Would thoroughly recommend this hotel for a relaxing break. It was well worth the cost - so luxurious and truly unique!

This place is SO AMAZING. Yes, it's very expensive. But yes, it is absolutely worth it. Do what you have to do, skimp on the rest of your trip, just so that you can stay here at least one night.

The beds are heavenly, high quality linens, all that. The rooms are very nicely appointed. Not over the top luxury, but everything is well thought out, high quality, and the views are spectacular. You look out your window to moss covered lava rocks, and even if that doesn't sound beautiful, it really is. It is so peaceful and designed very stylishly.

This hotel has it's own private lagoon. The locker room is very nice. The lagoon is the best place on earth, especially in the winter. The kind of place that you will spend the rest of your life thinking about!!! No, I'm not exaggerating.

The hotel encouraged us to visit the main lagoon as well, and guests get a VIP kind of pass. We went over, with a ride from someone at the hotel (it was very cold when we were there). Spent time in line, crowded locker rooms, then finding a hook outside for our robes.... There were free drinks in the lagoon, as well as free spa treatments. Honestly, if we didn't know anything about our private lagoon, this would have felt amazing. But after about two hours, we felt it was too crowded and noisy, and we were anxious to get back to the Silica, where we went straight back into the quiet lagoon.

Breakfast is incredible. No complaints. Food for lunch and dinner is a little pricey, for being not too exciting. They do encourage you to eat at the nice restaurant at the Blue Lagoon, which is worth the splurge. However, for a hotel as nice and luxurious as the Silica, I do think they need to have a slightly bigger food menu, for people who don't want to venture out. And more of a bar- I think it was a pay to bring to your room kind of thing, but I might be wrong.

I can't wait to go back some day! Hopefully soon.

Room tip: All rooms amazing, but some have a mini-lagoon out of their windows face, but it's cold water.

Not sure whether or not to visit the Blue Lagoon, we chose to spend our last night at Silica and did not regret it: luxury stay, beautiful private lagoon, & complimentary access to the main lagoon. Staff were wonderful and our entire stay felt luxurious and relaxing!
