My fiancé and I were sold a Midnight experience at Blue Lagoon,on standard rate of 105 euros each. We were told everything was included.
We found the staff at start very helpful, courteous and knowledgeable about the Blue Lagoon and its origins.
The reality of our expierence we were being lured into a false sense of security as the purpose of the over enthusiastic staff was to obtain as much money out of us under false pretences.
Before the swim became available to us,we were abandoned when dinner was over and no more money to be gained from us.
There was no one to show
us where to go,how to get towels or where the entrance to changing rooms were, and everyone in our group was left abandoned.
You have to wear an arm tagged band, which is chipped and your not allowed to leave and cannot leave, until chip has been cleared by scan at end of swim in case you owe money.
The staff were cheeky, ignorant and to the point of being aggressive at barriers when leaving the building.
It was advertised as a romantic couples swim at midnight, but we were told to leave at 2340hours. The robes we were given were used and dirty.

The Blue Lagoon Iceland itself is a wonderful expierence, except its been spoiled by a money making racket.

“Expensive but unique”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 16, 2013 via mobile

If you have only time to do one thing in iceland then do the blue lagoon.

Very interesting and expensive.

The water is milky blue and surrounded by steam rising from the geothermal area in which it is located. The temperature of the water is around 37 degrees although we found areas that were much hotter.

There are some saunas and a thermal shower which add to the experience.

Worth a visit if you have the time and thr money.

“Loved it so much, went twice!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 16, 2013

As long a modesty is not a major thing for you, you will love the Blue Lagoon. First of all, it is huge. I don't know how many people would have to be in it, to make it crowded, but we were there in the middle of August, and were not at all bothered by the number of people there. The modesty part come from the expectation that you shower without your swimming suit on, before you go in, so there are a lot of naked women (or men on their side) walking around, but as they come in all sizes, shapes and colors, it ceases to matter very quickly! Once you are in your suit and out in the lagoon, you are truly in heaven. You can move all over the place till you find just the right temperature and crowd and then make yourself at home. There are big buckets of white mud that you can rub all over your body which makes your skin ultra smooth...and makes the whole crowd pretty goulish looking! There are floating trays to put your drinks on, which you can get at the "wade up to" bar...and you pay with them swiping your wristband, so no need to take anything in with you. There is a limit of 3 drinks, so you don't see drunks splashing around. My advice is to take your own robe in with you, as renting one is pretty spendy, though walking around in something other than the very nice white terry ones will make you stand out, I'd rather spend the money on lunch in the deli. Another piece of advice is to wear a swimming cap. You won't see many women doing so, but the water is really rough on hair. The silica is great as an abrasive on your skin, but terrible for you hair. The Blue Lagoon is wonderful...and makes the long flight to Iceland worth every hour.

My husband and I were going to come here straight after our flight but opted to do it the next day. Had we gone straight there, I would have NEVER LEFT! It is absolutely amazing. The water is warm/hot depending on location, there's food, a great shower area, steam rooms and saunas from the pool, a waterfall, drinks . . . HEAVEN on EARTH!

“Worth it - but only if you do the basic package.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 16, 2013

This trip was about what I expected: tourist-trappy, but for a good reason. Overall, it is worth it, but don't make the mistake that I did.

I purchased the premium experience package, which comes with the buffet, slippers, a 5 EURO gift card, drink, volcano scrub, and towel/robe rental. Horrible idea.

- Buffet: Sub-par. For half the price, you can get an AMAZING meal in Reykavik. Save your cash and your appetite and try something different. Furthermore, the website lists whale as a menu item. WHALE IS NO LONGER SERVED - they have conveniently not updated the website.
- Slippers: Also known as foam flip-flops...
- 5 EURO gift card: Can only be used on skin care goods. The cheapest spa good is a ~1 once sampler that is ~3x this cost.
- Drink: Purchase this a la carte.
- Volcano scrub: Purchase this a la carte.
- Towel/robe rental: There isn't really any room to lounge by the pool (no beach chairs or anything like that). You are pretty much getting a robe to walk from the locker room to the water, which is like 30 meters.

I also recommend BUSTRAVEL. We used this bus service to go from the airport to blue lagoon to our hotel in Reykjavik. Amazing deal.
