“Excellent plus!”

For me, the Blue Lagoon is the best Spa experience in the world. We booked the ‘Experience’ package @ just over £70.00 pp which included use of robe, 1 towel, 2 self apply face treatments, 2 drinks at the bar and a 3 course set lunch (choice of 2) which was fabulous. We drove from Reykjavik, about 45mins, the local sat nav could not find the location in English, we had to use the Icelandic Bláa lónið but if you head for Grindavik, you will pass the spa on the way. If you have your own transport, pull over on the approach road to the spa to grab some shots of the beautiful azure pools in the lava fields, in case its too dark for photographs when you leave. The spa is open until 8pm and lunch is served till 4 but I think there is an evening menu at a different price. There’s also 2 cafés serving fresh, good quality snacks if you’re just paying the entrance fee.
We arrived late so didn’t get a chance to sample the treatments but we did make use of most of the facilities in and around the open-air pools. There’s a free sauna, wet room and massage waterfall plus various mineral mask dips that you can help yourself to, dotted around the pools near the sauna area. We were a bit worried that we didn’t have flip-flops or suitable shoes but we managed fine without them.
There is a bar set in the main pool, which attracts the young and slightly boorish but there are plenty adjoining pools you can wander around which are quieter. All age groups and nationalities seem to mingle comfortably and you need never feel crowded. Some areas of the outer pools are hotter and it’s good fun to see if you can tolerate the heat. The floor of the pools are natural so caution is advised when entering, leaving and exploring.
All areas are clean and modern. The locker rooms are communal with private cubicles for the Brits ☺ A locker is included in the ticket price, the lockers are modern, secure but a little on the small side. Make sure you have secured the lock on your locker with your digital key before you leave the locker area. There’s also plentiful free shampoo and conditioner in the showers.
If you have a bar drink token it can be exchanged for a hot drink ie. Breakfast tea, coffee at the poolside café bar.
We were initially forgotten by the waiting staff at lunch but once we nudged them we were served an excellent lunch at a comfortable pace.
We stayed until about 7.30pm and the atmosphere as darkness fell was magical. All in all this was one of the best holiday experiences I’ve had and worth every penny of the very reasonable cost.

“Breath Taking”
Reviewed February 1, 2013

After touching down in Reykjavik, we immediately jaunted to the Blue Lagoon. I did not know what to expect, but had the mindset that we would be 'roughing it' since the attraction is all natural. Completely proving me wrong, they have done a fantastic job creating an elequent area that surrounds the natural geothermal pool to adhere to all your jet lag needs. First entering the changing rooms highlighted with dark wood and exceptional cleanliness. The changing rooms exit right out to a fabulous deck flowing right into the blue lagoon. Once in the water, it was absolute heaven...smiling from ear to ear completely connected with all the natural elements from the milky hot water to the soft sediment at your feet and the views that surround you. In what we thought would be a quick stop to say we experienced a geothermal pool, ended up being a whole afternoon of enjoyment. We did not want to get out!

I highly recommend this attraction to anyone making their way to the Reykjavik area...it is a once in a lifetime experience! I hope to make it a twice in a lifetime experience!

“Amazing Earth!”

This place was awesome! It was our first stop in Iceland, and a relaxing way to unwind from travel and experience the unique thermal nature of the island. It is quite remarkable to experience the natural heat from this place The steam and color of water is stunning. The layout of the facilities is very nice and spacious. I have been to a few other hot springs around the world, and this one tops the list! Plan on spending a long time here to make the most of your admission. Don't miss it!

“Perfect for chill out!”
Reviewed January 31, 2013

This is a beautiful place that you definitely can't miss. I was there in a cold winter day with lots of snow and the sensation of being in a hot water and have snow falling in your head and all over the place is undescriptible. The water is steaming hot even in the coldest day and the facilities are very modern and clean. The warm waters are rich in minerals like silica and sulfur and bathing in the Blue Lagoon is reputed to help some people suffering from skin diseases such as psoriasis. The lagoon itself is not natural, it's man made, in fact all the water came from a geothermal plant nearby but it's 100% natural and it has all the minerals and stuff. Another great thing is that you can stay there the time you want and it's very confortable buy drinks without leaving the lagoon (3 alcoholic drinks maximum).

“Most gorgeous attraction in the world!”
Reviewed January 31, 2013

This is the biggest attraction in Reykjavik, and I was not disappointed.
It is very commercial, and most people are tourists, but the hot springs are just gorgeous.

You should try to do this on the way to the airport or from the airport depending on flight times. You can book this side tour when you arrive at the airport, or from your hotel.

SO relaxing. This attraction itself makes me want to go back to Iceland.

I think the price was just over 30 Euros for entrance.
