“We tried the local salt fish.”
Reviewed March 20, 2013

Mama Mia pizzeria was the only eaterie open when we passed thru Grindavik Harbour. It looks like a regular pizzeria but the sign outside said it served fish so we went inside. We were pleasantly surprised to discover that alongside the pizza selection it does indeed offer a variety of basic dishes at very reasonable prices. We had just driven by rows and rows of fish being naturally salted in the open air so we were keen to try this local delicacy. What we ended up with was a scampi and chips affair and a nice cup of tea. The salt fish was delicious but I think because it was very quiet, the fryer had cooled so the whole thing was very greasy. The dining area had nice quiet oriental touches and it was very clean. The server was lovely and we’d certainly recommend it as a cheap, clean, tasty, filler stop.

“Mediocre at Best”
Reviewed May 20, 2012

Had a meal of pizza, which was greasy, with poor choice of cheese. I also felt the price was too high for such low quality and poor service.

“Cheaper than hotel food but just as good”
Reviewed February 12, 2012

Easy enough to find, head for the port and you will find it. Friendly staff and excellent for burgers, chips, pizza and fish. Sounds a bit down market but there isn't a great deal of choice in the area. Glad to have found it.

“Good pizza”
Reviewed December 23, 2011

We ate here twice, staff speak good English, and there are a wide range of pizza options, plus a few grill options and sides. If you order the soda you can choose free refills, and you can also ask for a box to take away any pizza you don't eat. A 9" cheese & tomato pizza was approximately 1000kr with an extra topping added. Food was hot, and fresh, and seemed to be made to order. We ate at both a weekend and week night both were fairly quite.

“Authentic pizza”
Reviewed November 17, 2011

Food can be hard to track down out of season, so this was a welcome find. The pizzeria was obviously a meeting area for the local youth to gather for pizza and drinks. My teenage son was a little unconfortable to start with but lovely food.
