Mama Mia pizzeria was the only eaterie open when we passed thru Grindavik Harbour. It looks like a regular pizzeria but the sign outside said it served fish so we went inside. We were pleasantly surprised to discover that alongside the pizza selection it does indeed offer a variety of basic dishes at very reasonable prices. We had just driven by rows and rows of fish being naturally salted in the open air so we were keen to try this local delicacy. What we ended up with was a scampi and chips affair and a nice cup of tea. The salt fish was delicious but I think because it was very quiet, the fryer had cooled so the whole thing was very greasy. The dining area had nice quiet oriental touches and it was very clean. The server was lovely and we’d certainly recommend it as a cheap, clean, tasty, filler stop.
