“Good food”

We have choosen the three courses menu and were agreeably surprised. Good ingredients, well prepared and good service. Expensive, even to Icelandic standards. Unique setting.

“No value for your bucks!!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2013

Profiting from the Blue Lagoon atractive this is an expensive,a litlle presumptuous, place where you will not get the value your money deserves. Entrees at 5.200 Kr. plus three menus at 7.000 Kr. min. (and wines more expensive than any other place I have visited in Iceland). Meat and fish overcooked -of medium low quality- although well presented. The worst? The service far from professional besides the number of waiters and waitresses present. The only advantage?. To check all this by yourself. This is a point that is priceless. Unfortunately..

“Excelent food, but ...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2013

After having been treated as royals at the bloo lagoon were we looking foreward to an nice dinner in the restaurant (The dinner was part of an package), but we were partly dissapointed. The good part first: The food was excelent. When we arrived at the restaurant did the waiter from the blue lagoon show us to the table, and left us for the waiters at the restaurant. After a long while did one waiter get to the table and from here is the story a bumpy ride: My wife doesn't eat seafood, and alle two of three set menues had seafood in them, and she wasn't allowed to change the starter. On the Alla cart did both starters include seafood. After some negotiations did we mannage to get the non-seafood starter. The rest of the meal was a thre highlights (Starter, main and desert) with extremely long waiting time between. I think we waited half an hour after we were finished withe the main before we got the desert (We actually got an extra desert, because they dellivered the wrong desert to us). If you go there make sure you takt the trip to the roof for an view of the whole area.

“Lovely food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2013

We were here around Christmas time and so there was a Christmas buffet on offer. The food was lovely and it was great to be able to try lots of different things that you would not normally get to taste.

“Pricey but worth the visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 24, 2013 via mobile

We had a few hours to spare whilst at the Blue Lagoon so booked a meal after our soak.

This restaurant has a great atmosphere overlooking the Lagoon. The food was gorgeous, especially the trio of burgers starter.

I've seen some reviews complaining about the prices. The food is great quality & you have to allow for the fact it really is a unique experience.

Would highly recommend visiting the Lava Restaurant if you have time!
