Stayed at this hotel for 8 nights while attending a convention. Nice two double bed room. The staff was extremely friendly and always ready to help. This hotel has a huge parking lot. This is a smoke free hotel and it is not Pet friendly. They have a program called “Save the Planet” that if you chose not to have your room cleaned, they give you 500 club points or a $5 coupon that can be used in the restaurant in the hotel – that’s a good thing since the food is very expensive but it is only accepted in the restaurant “The Rosewood Dining Room” or at the “Lobby Café & Gourmet Coffee”. We had breakfast the first morning and it was $13.95 per person for the buffet. They offered scramble eggs, bacon, sausages, hash brown, biscuits and gravy, toast, cereal, fruit, omelets and waffles. The only problem is the waffle maker was not working so the waffles were cooked in the kitchen – why it took 15 minutes to get 2 waffles – don’t know. We had a better tasting breakfast the second day at IHOP for less. There at least 9 restaurants around this hotel and most are in walking distance. But eating in the hotel does provide convenience. During the convention, the hotel had food stations on the second floor and they offered salads, sandwiches, hot dogs, pulled pork sandwiches, and/or hamburgers all depending if they were set up for lunch and/or dinner. The food was extremely affordable – all sandwiches/hot dog/hamburger for $3 and bag of chips for $1. This was extremely appreciated and a big thank you to the hotel. With these prices, there was no need to go out to restaurants. The Lobby Cafe & Gourmet Coffee bar, they sold specialty coffees, normal coffee, cinnamon buns, bagels, pop and chip/candy. They also had the Mahogany Bar & Grill but we only had drinks there so not sure if they accepted the $5 coupon (coupon not good toward alcohol). Free Wi-Fi is available in the rooms if you are an IHG member (formerly Priority Club) and there is free Wi-Fi in the lobby. We had a bit of trouble with the Wi-Fi and found out on the second day, the trouble happened when the front desk entered my old Priority Club number and it mixed everything up. So I had them reverse everything and Wi-Fi worked again. I will need to call IHG and get everything fixed. Our room was very nice and very clean, 2 double beds, 2 closets, table and 2 chairs, fridge, large LED LG TV, coffee maker with coffee, large bathroom (very clean and probably first bathroom we have been into in a long time that did not have cracked caulking or mold). Only a few complaints about our room: the little fridge had no settings so we could not lower the temperature – my coke cans froze and the fridge had no shelves, no instructions on how to work the CD radio/clock so we were unable to set the alarm (and we tried everything), when we first moved into our room the AC was not working and the room was at 85F (called the front desk and they walked me through how to get it going) and the hotel book in the room lists all the amenities but not where they are located (found out in the elevator that the pool and fitness room were on the 14th floor and other things by following signs). Hotel has a pool with hot tub (hot tub was great and water was really warm not like other hotels) and a very large fitness room with 3 treadmills, 3 elliptical, one stationary bicycle and weights. All exercise machines have built in TV and that is also really nice. This hotel did not offer washers and dryers for laundry. You can get the hotel to do you laundry for a fee comparable to a Dry Cleaner or you can go to the Holiday Inn Express next door and use their machines (there is a walkway that connects both hotels. All in all we were very happy with this hotel. I know I listed a lot of things but over the course of 8 days, no hotel is perfect but this hotel did try and I believe a big thank you needs to be given to the staff. All in all, we enjoyed our stay at this hotel.
