“Homemade goodness!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013

Searched tvfoodmaps.com for restaurants to visit during our weekend in Springfield. Charlie Parker's didn't disappoint! You may just drive by unless you're looking for it as it is an old Quonset hut with a large gravel parking lot. Don't drive by!! The inside is "old diner" décor with vintage vinyl on the walls and stools at the counter. The staff is very friendly and service is quick. Although most customers around us were enjoying breakfast, we opted for burgers. Great homemade goodness that won't break the budget. Charlie Parker's is only open for breakfast and lunch, so stop early and come hungry!

“Breakfast worthy of "Triple D" fame”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 4, 2013

Arrived early on a weekend morning and got seated promptly. We were lucky to arrive when we did because the place filled up quickly. Waitress was nice and was quick to take our order, and she was a Packer fan which was nice to see in Bear country.

I ordered the breakfast horseshoe and my better half ordered a bacon waffle. We had previously agreed to get a 16 inch pancake too, so we foolishly ordered one. Needless to say we had more food than humanly possible to consume. It was all delicious, the horseshoe being a nice twist on a local favorite. I got the ham version, which consisted of eggs and ham on a piece of toast, topped with sausage gravy and hashbrowns. The pancake was not anything special, just really big. It was cool to eat a pancake off of a pizza pan though! The bacon waffle was literally a waffle with two WHOLE strips of bacon cooked in the middle. Very tasty!

Decor was typical of a Triple D diner. Lots of celebrity pictures on the wall and plenty of nostalgic artifacts. The building can be difficult to spot because of its boring exterior and low profile, but once inside it presents a nice atmosphere.

“Saw it on TV and it lived up to it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 18, 2013

My wife and I went here for breakfast 1 of our 2 mornings in Springfield. We'd seen it on a TV show in the UK called Diners, Drive-ins and Dives and decided we had to pay it a visit. It didn't disappoint. It's housed in an old Quonset hut and the walls are adorned with old vinyl LP's, neon signs and posters. There is also an old jukebox and the classic American Diner black & white checked floor. As is always the case in the US the staff were brilliant and the food was also great. I went for their famous for - the horseshoe. It consisted of toast covered in eggs, bacon, hash browns and melted cheese. It was huge and probably contained 2 days calories but it was well worth it! Go here!

“Fast, flavorful breakfast!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 26, 2013

A true diner, Charlie Parkers offers a great variety of breakfast entrees and does it all day! Try the signature Breakfast Shoe, plate-sized pancakes or waffles. You won't be disappointed. The waffles were especially good with a unique, citrus crossed with cake batter flavor. Easy on the budget, too.

“A True Diner”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 18, 2013

As seen on the third season of Triple D, this is a true diner experience. We were there for breakfast and tried the Breakfast Shoe – a true heart-attack on a plate (toast topped with egg, then meat, then gravy, then cheese, topped with hash browns), but delicious!!!
