We made a reservation online and were greated and seated as soon as we got there. I can't say enough about the great service as the waiter answered all our questions and was very well versed. Additionally they kept the water glasses full and checked at the appropriate times to offer more service.we both had the lobster bisque for a starter and it was hot, creamy, and downright wonderful. My husband had the New York Strip which he pronounced as the best steak he had in a long time. I had the salmon which tasted very fresh and prepared to that just done state desirable for salmon. Wish we liived closer!

I went to Augie's for the first time and it was beyond my expectations. I kind of thought that it would be one of those places that served small, "fancy" portions and the taste would be OKAY, but it wasn't. I tried the chick pea hummus and gnocchi for appetizers. Both were so good, but the gnocchi is to die for. As my entree I got the goat cheese and market vegetable tart and it was so flavorful, not to mention presented well. My friend got the potato crusted cod which was absolutely delicious as well. The staff was really nice and was always checking in. This place is worth the money and I plan on going to the sister restaurant, American Harvest Eatery!

After 2 weeks in the USA travelling from Atlanta to Chicago we were despairing of finding this type of restaurant - informal but serving up well prepared, well presented food. Augie's met our needs exactly. In addition to great food and ambience our waitresswas an absolute treasure; knowlegeable about both the food and drink available. We are unlikely to pass this way again - but this is highly recommended to those who do.

From a seasonal cocktail, shared appetizer and salad, two special entrees, to shared dessert - food & drink were excellent. Service was excellent as well.

We were in town for one night at the State House inn. We did not want to eat at the hotel so we walked to this place. The city center area looked closed down until we came to this restaurant. The staff was nice and pleasant. Our food was good and we were happy we ate here instead of the boring hotel food. There may be other places open in the city downtown area but this was just the place for us.
