“Great Food”
Reviewed April 1, 2013

We were recommended this restaurant from our hotel and we were not disappointed. Yes, it was a little pricey, but definitely not outrageous. I had the salmon and it was amazing! My husband had the trout which was also good (just not as good as mine). It was not busy at all while we were there, must be off-season. At 5pm on a Friday night, we practically had the place to ourselves. I would go back.

“A bit on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for!”
Reviewed March 26, 2013

Our family had dinner here on a Monday night, early ~5pm or so. Our kids are 7 and 10 and they are used to eating in nicer restaurants because we take them and they know what kind of behavior is expected ;-) The waiter was attentive, familiar with the menu, and made a couple of great recommendations. We tried the flatbread (a simple pizza, of sorts) and the 5-spice bacon-wrapped shrimp for appetizers. Both were flavorful, hot, and a nice start to the evening. Augie's has an extensive wine list which is nice. My husband and I shared a simple greens salad with panko-encrusted goat cheese that was fried to perfection. It was dressed in a light vinaigrette that didn't overpower the salad. Our son had the lobster bisque for his entree and enjoyed it. The waiter says it's a mainstay on the menu and locals expect it. We both had the NY strip with braised red cabbage (divine!) and mashed potatoes. The steak had just the right amount of blue cheese on top, enhancing the flavor of the beef. Overall, worth the money and if we ever pass through Springfield again, we'll definitely make a point to stop in again and certainly will recommend it highly to friends and family!

“Great dinner”
Reviewed March 22, 2013 via mobile

Ate here with my wife on a Friday night, it wasn't terribly busy when we showed up, but got busy as the meal went on.
We had the flat bread for an appetizer, and each had a bowl of the lobster bisque. It was good although it was only lukewarm. For our entrees, I had the NY strip with blue cheese topping . It was cooked perfectly and was very good. My wife had the lamb porterhouse, which was very generous and tasty.
The service was good, not the best ever, but attentive enough. The atmosphere is a little different as the tables ate a little too close together and bring downtown, it's certainly a different crowd.

“Semi-pricey but worth it”
Reviewed March 21, 2013

This is more expensive than the other restaurants in the immediate vicinity, yet worth it. Why? Well... a lot of the others have a bar scene and bar food. This place has nicely presented choices that have a mix of vegetables, meat/fish, and sauces. In a way, things are presented as if it was a high end French restaurant. The atmosphere is great for couples; but also works well for non-romantic. We were a family of 4 - kids that were 11 and 16 - and it worked great. It is also reasonably quiet. You don't need to whisper, I don't mean that. Yet... you don't need to yell over others to be heard. The location is great in that it is close to a lot of highly rated attractions in the heart of Springfield.

“Consistently Excellent”
Reviewed March 10, 2013

As a native, I often (once every couple of months) come here for lunch or occasionally dinner. It is always great. I recently ate there for a luncheon birthday party with out of town relatives, and everyone thought it was wonderful. Kudos.
