One of my favorite Presidents. Learned quite a bit about Mr. Lincoln and his family. Great location downtown. Walking distance from his law office and the old state capitol.

We have gone to the Museum multiple times with out-of-town (or foreign) visitors and all have been thrilled with the Abraham Lincoln Museum. The historical path weaves through Lincoln 's life, using holograms, wax figures, artifacts, and multi-sensory exhibits to transport the visitor into the 1800's. Don't miss the Ghost in the Library show! Don't get side-tracked by the children's section unless you need a place for a toddler to play around. Children, 3+, are facinated by most of the exibits and love the shows (prepare them for the loud noise of canon fire).

This museum is very modern and is so neat to visit for all ages. Some of the exhibits change periodically so I like to go once or twice a year. Springfield is a great place to visit and has a lot of neat attractions (including a lot of Lincoln attractions). If you're visiting you should make a point to check out where Lincoln grew up. It is about 20 miles away and is called Lincoln's New Salem in Petersburg, IL. Petersburg is also a great place to explore. The only place to stay there is Riverbank Lodge, but it is very unique and affordable.

Museum is very good. But we lost a nice coat from the coat check, which doesn't have an attender. There was a sign posted saying they are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

The white house is nice. The wax figures of the President and family are great. There are more than his family too. The kids have a place to dress up in the time in history. Play with toys that are of the time. The movie of the Civil War is a must. The ending will blow you away, put its a surprise. The seats rock and smoke from the wall is good, but the ending is awesome..
