“Nice enough hotel, shame about the smell”
Reviewed April 15, 2012

For a Motel 6 it is pretty good. Rooms are new and the decor is nice (actually the bathroom was pretty cool).
There was however one drawback that tainted our visit. The horrid stench of stale cigarettes that permeated the lobby and all the hallways. It just ruined the nice atmosphere of the hotel and made it seem cheap and yucky. The room thankfully didn't smell too bad, as long as you didn;t leave the door open for too long.
Not recommended for asthmatics.

Friendly, helpful staff. 1st floor has just been totally remodeled. New shower/tub,vanity, paint and new flat screen tv. Room has new microwave and fridge. Bed was comfy and had new linens. It also has an elevator. Also an outdoor pool when in season. AARP rate paid about $49 per night including tax and with a dog. Best Motel 6 I have ever stayed in. Towels a little thin, no hair dryer, no carpeting in room - new laminate flooring, but a great place to stay for the money and the other amenities!

Room Tip: Book 1st floor -totally remodeled. They're working on the 3rd floor now-March 2012

We stayed here for 2 nights while site seeing the Lincoln sites. VERY clean, beds were comfy and the staff was friendly. NO THRILLS HOTEL, but they make that clear. No tolietries in the bathroom so make sure you bring your own.
Maid came in after the first day and made the beds and changed out the towels. I had change on the desk, a laptop next to that, and a CPAP machine next to the bed. ALL were there when we got back that night.
About the only thing that bothered me was internet access. They charge you 2.99 plus tax per day, and it was difficult keeping the connecetion. The connection would drop from time to time.
SO... In this case, you get a little bit better than you paid for, I would definitely stay here again.

P.S. For a inexpensive saitisfing meal, go next door to the Hen Pantry.

Room Tip: try to get a room close to the elevator. There are some really long hallways at this hotel

Idling semi noted at check-in. Night clerk refused to ask trucker to turn it off or move it to behind building (it was parked parallel to the building, across about 10 parking spaces). Said no rooms were available for us on the other side of hotel from it. When we said we would need to cancel the reservation in this case, he refused, said we'd be charged for it even if we left. I called the 800 number (just a call center at this time of night) and they called down there and tried to reason with him, also with no luck. We have stayed here several times in the past as we drove through Springfield with no bad experiences before, but after this, we will definitely not be back, including not on our return drive next week. A repeat customer, now an ex-customer - very disappointed in this facility.

Though it's a stretch to see how the actual lobby exterior resembles what's depicted in the photo, this property does stand a cut above the typical Motel 6. For one, there's an elevator and interior corridors. But if you have mobility concerns, request a room that's not all the way down to the end of the extremely long corridor. It's a real hike. My single room was efficiently laid out, in good condition, and clean--but Motel 6 spartan. No fridge, microwave, or even a coffee maker. The wi-fi worked okay, but for a three-dollar premium, it ought to. Expect it will take the clerk a minute or two to look up the required password and scribble it on a sticky note for you. Not a bad property if you adjust your expectations accordingly.

Room Tip: Ask for a room not all the way down the corridor from the elevator; it can be a very long hike.

The motel was clean and okay for one night stay. They do not offer breakfast.
The hotel clerk was brusque when giving me the rules on how our dog should behave. I understand the need for rules for pets but believe there is a better way to present the information. There is a fee for connecting to the internet. The location is near restaurants and fast food places. I might stay here again if the need arose.

Think college dorm room. Bare bones basic to the point of being almost sterile. Evidence of being worn around the edges but it was quiet and clean. There were a couple of convenience stores and generic chain restaurants in the immediate neighborhood making this a suitable port in the storm for the weary traveler but not exactly a vacation destination.
