“Very nice and peaceful”

Very old cemetery. Sad we couldn't go on top of Lincoln memorial to get a better look at sculptures. The WWII memorial is very logical. Enjoyed driving around and looking at huge headstones.

“A Must See!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 4, 2013

This is a beautiful tribute to our most beloved president. The history of the monument and the stages that led up to President Lincoln's and his family's final burial here is very interesting. I truly recommend taking your children here if you have the opportunity. To know that he is actually there and to see the reverence that is shown to him is amazing. Statues on the monument represent the military and were made from Civil War cannon. The stone inside was taken from several different states. Take the time to listen to the curator and ask questions. Please remember that it is a tomb and show respect. I was appalled to see people getting their picture taken with their hands in the nostrils of the bust.

“Great to explore, a must see.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 2, 2013 via mobile

We stopped by after a visit to the Lincoln Museum. This is a really interesting place. The Lincoln tomb, the war memorials, the many interesting and old graves, etc. We ventured off the beaten path and discovered some really interesting stuff like Lincoln's first tomb where he spent a few months, his law partner's gravesite, the Spanish American war soldiers graves (very old), etc. Be adventurous, there is a lot to see here.

A beautiful grave memorial that house Lincoln, his wife Mary and three of the boys. Free of charge and worth a quick visit.

“A beautiful place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 1, 2013

I'm not sure what I really expected when visiting the tomb of one of the most regarded American's of our time, but the size of the monument is amazing. It is truely breathtaking in both it's size and significance. The cementary itselft is very beautiful with lots of old trees and unique/elaborate headstones. Just to walk through the tomb and see the resting spot of Lincoln and members of his family gives you a very emotional feeling, one I really wasn't prepared for.
Highly recommended, but please be respectful.
