“House Divided!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 5, 2012

The 'restored' second floor, with elevator access, is where Abraham Lincoln gave speeches- and Abe is one of the Nine Illinois lawmakers responsible for getting the state capital moved to Springfield. The tour visit shouldn't take over an hour and is on the downtown square of Springfield, near the Lincoln Presidential Museum - both are well worth the visit.

“Lots to see”

Plenty to see in the whole area. So much Lincoln and civil war era history all within walking distance.

“Lots of great history here”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2012

The building is great and has a lot of history. Our guide seemed to be very knowledgeable and when we asked a question he typically knew the answer and could give us some good background information. I wish he provided that type of depth without us asking. His was a little superficial compared to all the history which is available from the building.

Definitely worth the visit. After standing in the House of Representatives Chamber, it makes the exhibit at the Lincoln museum so much more real showing Lincoln resting in state in the same chamber.

“Nice place to see where Lincoln did his thing”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 1, 2012

This was a pretty cool place. You can either walk around yourself and look around, or have a tour guide go with you. I decided to just walk around myself. Everything is pretty much self explanatory. It was cool in the upstairs assembly room to see the top hat sitting at the table where Abraham Lincoln sat. You should definitely check this out if you have the time.
