If I'm ever in Iceland again, I will make a point to return to Hotel Bru. The staff was friendly and helpful, and explained the Northern Lights phenomenon to us. (We didn't get to see them while at the Bru, but saw some slight ones the next night on our trip.) The rooms were great, beds soft and cozy, only minor complaint was my bed was literally right next to the heater and thought I'd be set on fire. The dinner--a seasonal seafood buffet--in the Bru restaurant was the best meal we had on the trip, easy. So delicious. And entirely affordable! After dinner, we chilled in the lobby and played games and read and wrote and overall it was a great evening. There isn't much to do in Borgarnes, so perhaps it is more of a transitory place to stop for a night, but you won't do better if you do.
