I have just retired (although going back two days a week starting tomorrow) and thought we might be a bit old - but came back feeling so alive. We tried things we have never done before - I got up on water-skis and my husband went to yogalates and kayaking. Never done a holiday like this before but definitely will again.

We found all the staff excellent and loved the blurring between staff and clients which made for a really relaxing holiday. I would like to mention a few particularly - Matt on the beach who was so patient, kind and fun whilst also passing on the knowledge in a very professional manner; Jonathon in the restaurant who was very helpful and obviously wants to learn as much as possible; Callum and Stu who are always great fun; Ben on skis who encouraged me to keep going when I had a setback; Matt on yachting who took us for a daysail and with all his knowledge was a great skipper for the day.

The only negative we had was the check in clerk at Gatwick whom we found quite rude and unwelcoming which at 4am wasn't good, and the lack of legroom on the outward flight. However the return flight was absolutely fine.

Hope to be back with Neilsons next year.

We've been 7 times for 2 weeks each time and it just gets better. The staff are great fun, the sports equipment is top quality and the view from the hotel is spectacular, I can't recommend this place enough. We never want to leave

We have just returned from a week at The Retreat in Sivota - fantastic location and really lovely staff. Everyone we met couldn't have been more pleasant or helpful. The range of activities included was amazing, from waterskiing to Zumba, Dancersize to Kayaking. The kids club was fabulous as well - Sea Urchins made our holiday by keeping the kids perfectly entertained. We have recommended this holiday to everyone we speak to and would definitely do another Neilson holiday without question. Thanks to all the team at Sivota!

Room Tip: Interconnected garden rooms are great for families who want a bit of space from their children!

We, (3 sisters, 3 nieces, 2 husbands, and a good friend from Australia) have just come to the end of a one week stay at the Retreat and one week sailing with the South Ionian Flotilla, with the best crew ever (Elaine, Rich and Jon). Our holiday could not have been better. The staff at the retreat were amazing, there was nothing they could not do for you. And those smiles on their faces not matter what time of day. We have yet to experience such good, friendly service for all of our two weeks. We get yogether as a family reunion every two years and when we booked this holiday we were not exactly sure what we were in for, all we wanted to do was learn to sail and then sail the yatch ourselves and we did for the second week. We sure got our exercise with all the inclusive water sports, and much more - cycling . The meals were nutritious and delicious and a big variety.
Thank you to all the staff at the Retreat and at Nidri where we picked up our yatch,. It sure was an eye opener for us for sailing, exciting and busy holiday. The best I have had.

Room Tip: Our rooms had a beautiful view and were perfect in every respect. We were on the 3rd floor facing the ionion sea.

First let me state that this is a great resort!

Everything was up to the high standard that I expect from Neilson.
The resort is aesthetically pleasing and offers a good range of activities. I particularly enjoyed the kayaking. The food was also excellant!

On the non-inclusive nights (of which there are 3), I would recommend the walk into Sivota town. The hill isn't half as bad as it looks once you start. However there are water taxis available if you don't fancy the walk.

Be aware that there are lots of steps in the resort, so regardless of the activities you decide to partake in, you will get a good leg workout.

If you get a garden room close to the bar area, you will get lots of noise if you are looking for an early night. The Garden Rooms (I can't comment on the hotel rooms) are quite basic, but more than adequate. Who would want to spend too long in their room though when there is so much to do.

If you are primarily interested in Sailing/Windsurfing and are above beginner level then this is not the resort for you. There is practically no wind here! However all other activities are excellant.
