This hotel was beautiful.
There were palm trees everywhere and beautiful flowers growing all across the decking around the hotel - so picturesque. The rooms were clean and were very basic which is typical of a hotel or apartment in Greece anyway from several past experiences. And the cleaners came in every day which was a bonus.
My only criticism would be the food which was provided under the bed and breakfast board basis. The quality wasn't great, but it was sufficient, and there was always bread for toast and cereal if you weren't keen on what they had to offer - one morning they had pizza.

Overall just a beautiful place.

We were given our favorite room again by Pela . Arrived a 1am so a quick walk round to Stam Stam and then Hemmingways to relax and have a drink before settling in for a great nights sleep. After a great breakfast of fruit , yogurt & honey fresh coffee followed by sausages , eggs and home made bread then a minute walk down to the beech to swim in the lovely water of the harbour. This was the start of a lovely relaxing holiday that lasted till the nigh we left. On this visit we were fortunate to be invited by friends in Sissi to go with them for a typical Sunday family lunch to their friends in the mountains above the plateau so I can tell you that the food served for dinner at the Palm Bay is typical traditional Cretein food, well cooked and plenty off it. During our stay we had a choice of at least three main meat, poultry and fish every night as well as a great variety of vegtables, rice, pasta. At breakfast there was always cold meat, cheese, a variety of breads both sliced and begets to slice yourself, fresh bananas & citrus fruits from the trees in the garden, water mellon and apples, tinned fruit salad an as much wonderful Greek yogurt as you could eat as well as honey and a variety of local fruit preserves [Jams] always soft and hard boiled eggs and fried, , sometimes bacon , sometimes sausages, omlet and pizza and a good selection of salad vegetables. I did here complaints from one family that they could not get a 'Full English' well maybe they should stay there for their holidays in future if that's all they can eat. This is good traditional Greek food at it's best and plenty of it constantly top up and 'Heat Tested' by the excellent chef right up to the end of Breakfast and Dinner service. You eat in the most beautiful setting overlooking the harbour or in the dining room if you prefer.
If you arrive on one of the very late flight as a large number of UK tour operators do then Stam Stam the local Giros [Kebab] cafe is only a few minutes walk away or if you ask the night clerk on the desk he will order a delivery for you which will arrive in under 10 minutes, or if you also fell like a stiff /soft drink or even a tea or coffee Hemmingways directly on the other side of the harbour from the Palm Bay should still be open, who will also order you a Giros if you buy a drink so don't feel you have to suffer till the morning if you come in late. Rooms come with a fridge for you to keep whatever your poison is chilled which can be purchased from one of the two supermarkets only minutes from the Palm Bay.
So if you want a really amazing traditional Crete experience in a setting surrounded by fruit and palm trees and wonderful flowers and gardens then come to the Palm Bay. If you want Roast Beef, 2 veg & Yorkshire pudding [Yes I heard that being asked for] along with your full English then go somewhere else that looks like a 1960's communist council block, and leave the Palm Bay to those how enjoy the better things in life and want a Traditional Crete experience in an amazing setting overlooking the harbour.

Room Tip: Free WiFi around the Bar /Pool area. Ground level rooms are cooler and in the shade, upper rooms generally have large balcony's but can get warm and you pay €5 per day for AC. Some rooms have a good sea view other face into the gardens

Just returned from a 2 week stay at the Palm Bay Hotel. It is an old hotel but in a beautiful setting. The hotel grounds are picturesque with palm trees, flowers and breakfast overlooking the bay and the sea. The rooms are basic but adequate. Cleaned every day so couldn't fault the cleanliness. Excellent location in Sissi with the beach a stones throw away. We would definitely return to Sissi for another holiday as it is a lovely unspoilt relaxing fishing harbour with numerous restaurants. However, despite what I have said above, I would not return to stay in the Palm Bay Hotel until the food improved. We only booked the breakfast but it was all the same every day and all fried. Bacon on Thursdays. Every other day seemed to be a variety of eggs cooked in different way. All items (with the exception of baked beans) were egg based. No variety of bread or cereal. There was yoghurt and tinned fruit (either peaches or fruit cocktail but not both on the same day). Most of the time we resorted to a bowl of cereal and a coffee and that was our breakfast. Also - we were ill for a couple of days whilst there and after talking to other guests, they had been ill also. We couldn't make our minds up whether it was the food or the pool. We did see the pool being cleaned each morning so we think it was maybe the food. Other guests we spoke to who had also booked the evening meal had decided to eat out as they were convinced it was the food. So - to summarise - a beautiful place, hotel in beautiful surroundings. Whilst very clean - the food let it down.

Just come back from a really lovely holiday at Palm Bay in Sisi. The gardens are just stunning and it is very quaint. The staff are so friendly and so helpful. They were chatty but as it is a family run hotel children wonder around and the baby was often in the bar. It was delightful.
The swings that are like hammocks are fantastic! We loved them especially during the very hot part of the day when we could chill out and relax in the shade. We have never seen these anywhere before so they were amazing for us.
We had read reviews about the food before we went and we didn't expect very much but goodness! it was poor! we ended up eating out each evening. For breakfast pizza and chips was strange. We didn't realise until the last but one day that the evening meal could be exchanged for a packed lunch. We did this and had such a delight! we had salad, bread, fruit and cakes along with some strange meat thing which we abandoned. It was brilliant. It would have saved us buying our lunch at the very local supermarket.
We thoroughly enjoyed Palm Bay but don't go expecting any frills, it is as it is, very very clean, very, very pretty and true treasure and delight. Would we go back - definitely!!

Room Tip: Choose a ground floor room, as they are not so hot and have a pretty view.
