“vasia beach and spa”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

having returned from vasia beach and spa with my wife must say this will be a mixed review, having arrived at the vasia beach me and my wife went to check in this was very swift and professional with a food bag as buffet had closed ,we were told to see the porter who then took are bags and we got on a buggy to our room in the vasia beach we thought but it soon dawned on me we were going to another hotel as we were on the road the porter stopped at vasia village the sister hotel to vasia beach and were told that this is where we were staying I spoke to the night manager who said we had to stay there tonight and discuss it with the day manager in the morning, so we spoke to the manager as we requested a sea view as this was our 25th wedding anniversary this was the only side sea view available I protested and eventually we were moved to the vasia beach later that afternoon but still annoyed

on the vasia beach is a lovely hotel with good food and accomadation we were there for the week and used the Italian which was ok,all inclusive is from 830am til 11pm would have thought drinks would have been to 12am , entertainment was ok could do with a bit more maybe a disco etc met a couple with teenage kids who were finding it boring at night so the hotel needs to address this I think ,the safe is 30 euros for a week which is expensive I think check out is at 12pm then you must pay 10 euros each to continue all inclusive and about 60 euros if you want to keep your room on, but having spoke to the English manager who is very good about our situation been moved etc we got this free of charge , on the whole a good hotel just check they put you in the right hotel when you arrive lol

Overall a fabulous family holiday but needed more evening entertainment especially for older children as I had 16 & 17 year old girls who were at a loose end every night but other than that a great place great food fantastic weather and a perfect family get together.

We've just returned from a brilliant holiday at Vasia Beach and Spa and would highly recommend it for those who want to soak up some Greek sun in pleasant surroundings with a nice international clientele.
Ideal for families and those that want to relax, take it easy and have a good break. The pools were lovely, not too crowded and you could always get a bed without putting a towel down at 3 in the morning.
Food was typically all-inclusive. Quality was good, lots of choices though nothing too high end with lots of chicken and pork, nice salads and a big variety of bread and sweets. That said we had the choice of snails one day, mussels another, individually made pancakes another.
The entertainment staff were mainly young, Eastern European, hard-working, friendly and good at shimmying. Evening shows were energetic and just the right side of cheesy, but if you are expecting the West End, you will be disappointed. Zorro was a particular highlight.
Free bars were available until 23:00. The soft drinks were pretty much undrinkable (you call it coke??!!!) but with lots of choice, you would always find something nice. We ended up drinking lemon slushes mixed with coconut liqueur and ouzo which were fantastic.
If you did want a decent glass of wine or a can of sprite, there are two supermarkets next door which were reasonable and also gave you something to drink after 23:00.
Lots of car, bike and quad bike hire outside the resort, all very easy and reasonable.
In summary, great location, great views, lovely clean rooms, helpful staff, good value and great fun. Thanks guys.

Room Tip: Near the sea seems ot be a good idea if you want a liitle more peace and quiet.

We are having a fantastic time at this hotel. There are three of us staying in a large room that has a bedroom and a lounge/ bedroom for our six year old son. Our son is having the best time! The swimming pools are excellent! I wish I had enough money to have one of the rooms with private pools but I can only dream.....! The Cotton Club is where most of the entertainment is set in the evenings. The staff are very friendly and very kind to our son. All inclusive finishes at 11pm so we tend to go to Stefanos which is opposite for a last drink. They have swing chairs that hang from an enormous tree, very relaxing.

I was on a diet before coming out. I could have stuck to it as there is a huge variety of delicious salads and fruit here! But....it's impossible with the amazing variety of foods that they have here. Lots of different theme nights that will cater for all tastes. Loads of Greek specialities as well as options for children and fussy eaters.

We always hire a car when we go on holiday. We were given fantastic advice by Andy the hotel manager. He has been fantastic! He is also very funny! We went to Aghios Nikolaos for two days. This is a truly stunning olace to visit! It's not far if you go on the new road. The mountain roads are not for the faint hearted! We also took a lovely coastal drive to Rethymnon. Crete is the largest of the Greek islands so we weren't able to see all the beautiful places. There is so much history, legends and breathtaking views here.

I would thoroughly recommend this hotel for a holiday! If you have opportunity (and money!), visit the Spa and have some beauty treatments. I had a fantastic pedicure and massage from Anca who was really friendly and a talented beautician.

Vasia, we will be back one day!

We stopped at this hotel from the 26/7/13 for a week and we thought that hotel was a 4.5 star. The complex itself is a great place lots of different pools about 3 big ones and the rest are small.pools in appartmemts but the pools are not very deep which we liked because were not a fan of deep water. The pool bars were very good except the drinks were not very strong at all. The food was brilliant breakfast lunch and tea was all different, hot and plenty of it. The al.acarte resurant wasnt very good in my opion not much choice. Entertainment at night was in the theatre but we never went there we like. To go for a walk. We went to the axia apartments pool bar is brilliant not to expensive you can sit and watch the sunset perfectly. And the bar man is friendly and service is very good.
Sisi town is small but is lovely lots of different bars and restaurants by the sea. There was a seafood restuarant call thyrossos very very good food and prices not too dear. I had the lobster it was yummy! The owner was very nice too. The peggys irish bar is brilliant the owner play irish music and plays his songs theres are quizs and karaoke there.
Arva bar by the sea food great and bar service great go and see it!!!
The excursions were really dear for what they were we found. We went to water city, didnt really rate the place as it says it as 35 slides but 15 of them are for adults and the rest are for kids been to better places. No competing with. Prices like other countries for fags or beer or trips.
Overall very nice place and would go back again.

We stayed at the hotel for 1 week and we had a great time, the hotel was lovely, the staff were so friendly. It is a very clean hotel and has some good views. There was quite a selection of food on offer in the buffet restaurant which was really nice and we also got to eat one night in the Mediterranean which was great service and great food, however you are only allowed to eat once per week of your stay in either the mediterranean or Italian restaurant. Make sure you book at the start of your holiday though as the Italian one is very popular and there was a waiting list for it. There is a shuttle bus to one of the beaches which is handy but the beach only has one place to buy food. Hotel is only a minutes walk from a supermarket and some local taverns and gift shops. But a further 5 minute walk down the road and there are some great bars and restaurants. Would highly recommend for families and couples. Spa was abit pricey so we didn't use. It is also only 35-40 minutes from the airport unlike stated in Thomas cook. It was an hours transfer when we got there because of other drop offs but when we where picked up to go home we were last pick up so it only took 35-40 minutes. the hotel also has rooms available with private pools which looked very nice from what we could see.

Having read the reviews prior to jetting off to the Vasia hotel, I was quite sceptical. Having just returned, however, I am pleasantly surprised.

The hotel itself is situated on a large complex, with amenities such as supermarkets, restaurants, car hire etc a 2 minute walk away. With a location next to the sea it appeared to be a perfect location however, this wasn't the sandy beach many tourists desire.. For that, you'd have to pay for a bus which would take up to 30 minutes.

The hotel is said to have 7 swimming pools. Whilst I don't doubt the actual number is accurate, those that you will use is more likely 3. Others are for small children. The condition and size of the pools was very impressive.

The rooms themselves were spacias, clean and very comfortable. Whilst people have complained the television channels were poor and the size was inadequate, why are you watching TV when you have a perfect sunset and 35-40 degree heat outside.

The food, whilst resembling a school in cafe, was very pleasant. They tried to cater for all nationalities and in my personal opinion, succeeded.

The staff were helpful and always on hand to assist should there be any requirements.

Thomas Cook should be proud of this hotel and themselves for making this all inclusive stay so good. One point guests need to be made aware of, as part of the all inclusive deal there is a meal in either the Greek or Italian restaurants located on site however, book as soon as you can as they are very popular!!

The animation team tried really hard and although I feel the entertainment wasn't great, they were all lovely people and tried to keep us entertained.
