“Fab holiday!”

We had an amazing hol at Vasia for the £260 we paid for a week all inclusive.
Not 5* but it didn't matter!
Thomas Cook rep was useless and didn't know the area but the hotel reception was great for info.
Animation team worked hard but the entertainment was rubbish.
Food very good for all inclusive.
Very high charges for a safe n to keep the all inclusive on. Seemed a very safe hotel.
Was very clean n well looked after.

I have just returned from the above hotel, yes i did read the reviews before I went and I was a little disappointed with the hotel.
* The hotel was clean. thats about all I can say on a positive note.
* The food was not of a good standard.
* The hotel staff were not welcoming to the hotel.
* The entertainment was very poor.
* The A/C was very, very noisy.
* The service at meal time was awful, if you wanted a drink with your meal or a refill. Too many clearing tables, then taking orders for drinks.
I feel that Thomas Cook should re grade this hotel as a 3 star.
I will not be returning to this hotel.

Aquis Vasia is a gorgeous resort with about 6 pools, we visited for a week and we went with Thomas cook and it was so well organised and the resort is so well run. The pools are warm and are refreshing after an hours sunbathing, good for kids as there are many shallow pools and one deep one with a height of 1.9m. The animation team are especially good compared to some resorts I've stayed at and they are really friendly and their activities are definitely ones to try out as they are enjoyable to do. There are many bars at the resort and if you come through all inclusive there are about 4 or5 bars all of which you can buy drinks through. The only thing tht I would say is a disadvantage is that the all inclusive drinks end at eleven and If you want more drinks you have to pay extra. But overall I think the hotel is amazing and I would definitely return again!

A good all round three star as the pools are vast and clean and the food in main restaurant good, even for the three veggies in our party. Hotel very clean and most staff very friendly. Room was nice however our son who we paid adult price for had a metal camp bed, and the sheets on our bed were too small for it so they wrinkled and fell off. AC noisy. Bathroom nice and big but shower leaked.

The food in Greek restaurant...well do not go if you are vegetarian, we got COLD boiled brocolli, carrots and spinach, of which we decided not to eat so leaving half the party in the Greek restaurant we returned to the buffett restaurant.
The worst thing for me was there was no real evening enterainment, you have to sit in a dirty, unpractical wooded ampitheather, to watch one hour of sillyness, so we did not bother, which made the evenings boring.
The maid one evening at 530, just walked into our room, into the bathroom while I was on the loo, ready for the shower, this is funny now but I was less than impressed at the time and did feel it unacceptable so I complained but really reception staff were not bothered and nothing was done.
Transport on buses is very limited so you have to book the trips. We did Knossoss and Heralikalon as a group, I think most enjoyed it but I personally am not a history buff!! The jeep safari was amazing worth every penny and the guide Manos was fab, this trip is a must. Also did the four hour happy train, very worth while and enjoyable, and again a must.
There were a group of boys who wanted so badly to ruin the holiday for my son, however you get these sort of people everywhere and my son ignored them and still had a lovely time.
A good hotel in some respects, and in others totall unacceptable so we would not return.

3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2012

We went in late July for 10 days, two familes, one of which has two teenagers. Upon arrival like many others we were told our rooms weren't ready so they put us in a nice bungalow with private pool for one night and we were told to come back the next day.

The next day we approached reception and was met with a 'oh yes, we'll move you', no apology for the inconvenience. I asked would they like to compensate us for the incovenience of not being able to check into the room we had booked 6 months earlier. This was met with a 'I will have to ask the manager, come back and see me tomorrow'. When I returned we were begrudgingly told that we would be offered something at the Spa and would send an invite, it turned out to be a free session at the indoor Thalassotherapy pool - wow, it was 32c outside just what we wanted to spend a few hours indoors in a pool with bubbles.

The staff are mainly Eastern Europe and work very hard but are also very friendly. The all inclusive drinks is a joke, its basically a menu of drinks on offer which are served in small plastic cups so you spend your time going back and forth. Instead of wristbands you need to show your room key each time, again adds to the disorganisation.

The food was fine they usually have a special on and most nights this was pretty good. Yes there are familiar elements at each meal time but this is to ensure there is always something for the kids to eat. You can't expect to go all inclusive and get a la carte food. The greek night we booked was good, with plenty of food, I would recommend booking for this early.

The other challenge is the all inclusive finishing at 12 on the day you leave. You can negotiate this, quite a few other families were extended whilst we were there but reception initially offered us a 50% discount. It was only when we get the rep involved and kicked up a fuss about the start of our holiday did he reluctantly agree.

The rooms are fine. Yes, generally family rooms are two beds and two couches which if the kids are oulder is not ideal. The room was cleaned everyday and the only annoyance was the shower leaked all over the bathroom as it had also done in the luxury bungalow we had for one night.

The beach is a reasonable 20 minute walk through town and the town itself is fine but suffering due to all inclusive trade at the hotels. We ate out a couple of times and had good food at reasonable prices.

In short its a 3-4 star hotel which clearly constantly overbooks and has to shunt people around. That's fine but look after the guest if you have inconvenienced them. Most hotels, if your room is not ready will put you in a better room as compensation, not this one. Don't be surprised by being palmed off as a nuisance guest because they oversold your room.
Food is fine, good choice but the drinks menu for ALL inclusive is a joke. You will do well to get drunk unless you start early and finish late...oh yes all inclusive finished at 11pm.
Pools were good and at some you can get wi-fi, good activities by the entertainment staff.

All in all OK but I couldn't recommend it, too many things need fixing, but they are small details which could easily be done to make this a good hotel.

We stayed 5 days, a family of 5. There are different pools to swim in and we did get a upgrade to a room with a private pool (5m x 5m , 1m deep). The food was ok, not too fancy. We couldn't book the specialty restaurants as they were "full" . There is no sandy beach close, but they do have a shuttle to one.
The walking distance to the small town is very nice, lots of restaurants.

We did not go to the evening shows...so i cant rate them.

What surprised us positively was that there were always available seats/sunbeds around the pools...no need to "reserve" sunbeds at 7 am.

A/C at the main dinning room was a bit slow.

Overall it was fun & relaxing.

Room Tip: The rooms with the Private pools are recommended. (they are close to the main building and have Wif...

The food , very poor choice Definately NOT 5 STAR ! service of drinks at dinner poor and slow, it was quicker to leave the table go to the outside bar and get it yourself. The entertainment staff wer very poor. My 6 year old went 3 mornings to the kids club, which was more like a creche and they did none of the activities adevertised on the board on the gate of the kids club. So she got bored and came with us. The evening entertainment was the worst I have ever experienced, mainly done by the Kids club enetertainers but for adults and kids, they are not qualified to look after kids let alone entertain us in the evening. They only had paid entertainers 2 evenings and these were dreadful too ! The beds for the kids were hard sofas with sheets on. The only good thing was the size of the room and bathroom with doors seperating our bedroom from where the kids were. The swimming pool areas were good and the location was nice for snorkling in the Sissi harbour and walking down to the village for a decent evening drink.

Room Tip: room 509 was ours but beware if you have kids that don't like hard beds !! good central location...
