“Good holiday & hotel..Honest review stayed 28th May - 8th June 2014”
Reviewed June 8, 2014

We have just returned from our 10 nights all inclusive Family room, me the wife and our 5 year old son..My review is my opinion only but i will tell it how we found our holiday.
We arrived at the airport late but flight was fine, got through and found our bus, all good, it took 1.5 hours to get to the hotel after dropping everyone off, not seen this mentioned hotel said it will take 30 mins..
Got to the hotel and check in was fine, got to the room and found our bed on the upper floor and our sons bed downstairs in the entrance area by the front door, he slept with us that night, the following day we asked for a room where we would all be on one level and we did get one although a bit small. Beds are very firm and none of us slept that well throughout our stay. The hotel during our stay was 98% dutch and few german families, the 10 days we spent only met 3 english families, not a problem but our son had no english speaking buddies to play with. Rooms and hotel very clean, internet is very poor and did not work anywhere away from the reception.

Hotel does not have what i would call a comfortable lobby or public areas, if you want to go to the kids disco or any of the social events these are held at the cotton club which is 5 min walk next to the other vasia hotel. Wine very average, beer weak and gasy, i like my beer and it is served in very small glasses but after 3 or 4 you feel very bloated, this was mentioned by all us beer drinkers. The pools are slides are very good and spotless and cleaned all the time and i noticed them doing water quality checks. Some staff are better than others, Angela at the pool was very good with everyone. Had a few cloudy days so we took the bus to bufos beach, well the gritty pebble area in front of some very dangerous rocks...not worth a visit and to be honest should not be called a beach. Walked into the local village of Sissi, it is ok for a half hour walk but mainly shops selling fake tatty crap, and only beer apart from the greek beer is Amstel..Sun beds at main pool great either, food was of good quality even if a little limited. They do a bbq that was good and also the cooking lesson on the last Sat was great, my Son along with the Head Chef made some cheese pasties that where cooked and later brought to the beach bar. The chef was fantastic with my son and very friendly and helpful and my boy really enjoyed it. Overall we had a great time and it was very relaxing and a peaceful resort, not screaming kids and you never have to put towels on your sun beds. The Dutch where friendly and we enjoyed holidaying along with them.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a room that has you and your families beds all on one level, the marble stairs...

We stayed 1 week in may 2014, the room was very small, the view was a banana tree and behind a fence. The shower was leaking into the whole tiny bathroom and made it dangerous slippery. The walls where paperthin because we could here the next dore neighbour snorring. The staff in the restaurant was unfriendly exept for Maria. The rooms where very clean. Reception did nothing with our complaints. The food was not warm enough, the desserts with cream frozen. I will never book that hotel again. It's worth 3 stars instead of 4/5

Stayed all inclusive for a week in early May. Staff all brilliant. Room fine, very clean, though views over piece of part developed wasteland not inspiring. The dining room did not have much atmosphere - a bit canteen like.
Some way to walk to centre of village. This and the fact that Sissi is very small, with a poor bus service to other resorts means a car is preferable. All inclusive meals were pretty good for buffet style. House wines and lager passable, but cocktails ( tried them all) and I suspect spirits very poor. Only real downside was the smell of sewage which was often present near to the water slide area. Hotel seemed to give attention to this problem but the smell was there several times during our stay.

This was our second time using Vasia hotels. Me and my wife had such a great stay, we decided to come back to the same area using the other Vasia hotel for a change. We had such a fantastic stay at Vasia Beach hotel, was hoping for the same experience at this one too. This time round we had a new edition to the family, our 8 month old daughter.

Vasia Village Hotel is smaller than Vasia beach hotel, which makes it suitable for Parents with small children. It has great swimming facilities for toddlers and older children. And a bar by the adult pool serving beer and cocktails, with a great view of the sea.

Restaurant had great food to pick from, this was all inclusive so I was in food heaven! Staff was so friendly during meal times and it was a pleasure seeing them looking after all the guests. Staff are also very child friendly, making it a great experience for my daughter during meal times.

Rooms are clean and have air con. We were lucky enough to have sea view room. The cleaners did a great job putting everything away for us and was friendly too.

Sissi village is such a nice village, i was glad to be back there again. It is a nice quiet peaceful place, with shops, bars and nice restaurants with great views.
Sissi is also middle point from two popular Crete city (Heraklion and Agios Nikolas) which is about 40minutes away each way. Great for shopping days and historical attraction.

This was such an enjoyable and relaxing stay, and the hotel suited our baby daughter. We stayed 12 nights in June, which wasn't too hot for her.

Would love to stay here again!

We stayed at this hotel 7days. 13th sept - 20 sept. We would certainly recommend this hotel. From arrival untill departure everything was well organised. The staff was friendly and helpful. Constatina and the poolbar is such a great girl with lots of humor. The food was excellent. We stayed in a small room. If our stay was longer than 8 days we would have asked for a bigger room which is not a problem at all. They do everthing to make your holiday a pleasure. We have stayed in many hotels over the world, but Vassia is just great. Lots of excursions can be done. Sissie is a nice little town. You have to take the shuttle to the beach. Before I forget... the rooms are very clean with clean towels every day. Yes... we certainly reccomend VASSIA VILLAGE.

Firstly, I must say that this hotel (Vasia Village) is NOT to be confused with the Vasia Beach hotel! Both hotels are owned by the same chain, and you CAN use the Spa & Gym facilities at the other hotel (which is a 5 min walk away).
If you have booked all-inclusive, then you can also have 1 meal at either the Italian or Greek restaurant in the other hotel (be aware you do need to pre-book!) I would highly recommend that you do this - we tried to book the Greek restaurant, but were told this was fully booked & that they had booked us into the Italian instead. We were disappointed to miss out on the Greek restaurant, but we soon found the Italian restaurant to be outstanding.

The hotel / resort is quite a way from the airport & we were the last drop-off. After seeing so many other hotels on the ride from the airport, we were initially worried when we arrived because the front of the hotel is quite small / plain & does not do the rest of the complex justice.
We need not have worried though. Our room was a spotless apartment style room split over 2 levels with its own balcony & sea-view. There was a bath & shower in the room, along with a fridge & air-conditioning.
The location of the hotel is outstanding. It is right next to the sea (there is no beach, just rocks), and there is a bar open in the evenings which is great for watching the spectacular sunsets from.
The food was excellent, with plenty of choice available at every meal. The food choice also varied daily.
There were plenty of drinks available, but the only branded spirit was Martini. The cocktails & the beer were both OK.
All of the staff were very friendly, and were happy to go out of their way to ensure you had a good stay.
There was free wi-fi available, but it was very hit & miss whether you got a connection or not. The receptionist advised that this was because of the number of people trying to connect. His advise was to keep trying!, and to be fair to him we did eventually get a connection.

We had a very enjoyable, relaxing break at this hotel & we are already planning to return next year.
