“Absolutely amazing hotel - going back again this year!”
Reviewed July 31, 2011

We usually make a point of going to a different Greek Island each year, however last year we returned to Sissi in Crete as we had such an amazing time there the previous year. We chose to stay in the new Castello Boutique Resort hotel - and all I can say is WOW!!
We like to stay in small boutique hotels and have very high expectations, and we were not disappointed with the Castello. On arriving, we were greeted by the friendly reception staff, and taken to our room. We got an extra special treat as we were upgraded to a junior suite with split level. In the room, there was a lovely welcome note, together with a complimentary bottle of wine, platter of fruit and platter of Greek pastries - such a nice touch!

The hotel itself is everything you expect from a 5 star hotel - fantastic facilities, amazing spa (I would definitely recommend trying the spa treatments and special offers - really worth it).
The pool area is immaculate, plenty of sun loungers.
We stayed half board, although ate out most nights at the local tavernas. This is no reflection on the food in the hotel - indeed when we did dine there, it was fantastic, but one of the things we enjoy about the Greek Islands is eating out at the various tavernas.

I would recommend the following tavernas for amazing Greek food:
- Neromilos - 5 mins walk outside the town, amazing, friendly authentic Greek food
- Pink Flamingo, and Mike's Place.
Also try Mamma Mia for a mean Pizza or steak!!

For evening drinks, make sure to check out Peggy Gordon's pub (on the same road as Castello). This is a little Irish pub - the owner Cavan, is the perfect host, and a fantastic musician! Manys a nights fun was had here, plus the live music is a must see!

All in all, I would thoroughly recommend this hotel- so good I've already booked to go back in September!!!

Room Tip: All the rooms are off an exceptionally high standard.

We booked a week at this hotel last minute for a relaxing break and were certainly not disappointed.

From the second we got there the staff made us feel special and this continued throughout the whole of our stay. They were all extremely attentive, professional and nothing was too much trouble.

We arrived on my birthday to find a bottle of champagne chilling in the room which was a really nice surpise after the long journey. We stayed in a standard room, we did consider upgrading to a pool room however the only difference is this, the rooms are exactly the same.

The whole hotel is immaculate, the pool area, public toilets, everything is spotless. Our room (411) was at the back of the hotel with a great view of the mountains, very quiet and peaceful.

The food was varied, tasty and plentiful. The salads were delicious as were the greek deserts and the chocolate cakes.

The hotel definitely exceeded our expectations however It was the staff that made our stay so perfect, this really does encompass everyone we came in to contact with.

The day to day manager (we didn't get his name) was always around overseeing things and was well presented and very professional. We must also mention Angelo at the bar, his cocktails were to die for, his enthusiasm endless, a real credit to the hotel.

Just one note of caution, take a taxi to and from the airport rather than the coach transfer. The roads aren't exactly designed for coaches and the number of stops make for a journey of around 2 hours!

Overall, a great base for exploring Sissi and further afield and we will definitely be back in the future!

Room Tip: All of the rooms are amazing and the area is quiet however the higher numbers e.g. 411 are towards t...

This little jewel of hotel in a friendly town of Sissi provided us with a wonderful oasis of relaxation, fresh food and clean accommodation for 10 days. Unlike Castello Village (the same owner) across the street, this boutique hotel was quieter and cozier, catering to more sophisticated and select group of tourists. The service by the staff was excellent to the detail, with smiles and professional spirit. The location was perfect for us to make day trips to many cities and beaches, on the north side of Crete, and yet far away enough from the neighboring town of Malia, totally commercialized to cater to young crowd partying all night. The food at the dining room was always very fresh and tasty, with many Greek dishes.

This hotel is as good as everyone says! The friendly, efficient staff and spotless facilities were just two major pluses. The food was excellent and on my wife's birthday we returned from a trip out to discover a chilled bottle of fizz and two red roses waiting in our room.
Nothing is too much trouble.
If only all hotels went the extra mile for guests like this one does.
Go on, book it. You won't regret it!

The hotel was exceptional, they treated us like we were on honeymoon from the moment we stepped through their doors to the moment we left.
The food was fabulous, the cleanliness of the hotel and pools exceptional and the mammer of the staff delightful.
We would reccomend over and over and certainlly stay again, just a shame Sissi is a bit past it's best as the Castello Boutique certainally wasn't

We had a wonderful stay at Castello Boutique, specially because the staff .
They were kind, helpful, always smiled, and they were willing to help and assist even with not ordinary requests.
The hotel itself is outstanding- newly builded, high standard, lovely decoration, large bathrooms, very clean and highly equipped.for 30 euros extra per day- we got a room with a private pool, and that, needless to say,was awsome!
The dinning room serves every day a different dinner-like in a fancy restaurant. very classy style and very tasty.
the staff were willing to replace evry course we didn't like with something that was'nt on the menu that day.I call that- make an effort for the guest.
well done!!

Room Tip: ask for private pool
