Most Excellent. Been to 801 downtown and Des Moines. The 801 Grill
has same great food and less pricey and stuffy. Had Rock Shrimp as appetizer.
Very good with hint of heat.

Pork Chop Was wonderful. Came with Smashed and Green Beans. Will be back !

Stopped on Sunday afternoon for there happy hour! Ordered the rock shrimp, Brussels sprouts and escargot. The Brussel sprouts were burned. The escargot was dry probably because the chef forgot the butter, when I pointed this out to the waitress she had no comment. Overpriced, Service was good, if you want to be interrupted constantly.

A great place for some interesting cocktails, good beers, and great food. The Filet ($34) was cooked nicely but slightly over the MR I requested. Mushroom caps as an extra side were great w/ the steak. Was torn between Filet and the seared Ahi tuna!
The food line guy handled French-fries out of the bowl and onto the plate - with bare hands. Not best practice, as I saw him put a towel onto floor and pick it back up - presumably to soak up some spillage? Gloved hands while handling food please!
Was not busy at all on a Tuesday evening at 5pm.

Ou group enjoyed being seated in the small private dining room (it might hold as many as 12 people). Happy hour features reduced cost on appetizers and drinks. The escargot appetizer was good, albeit a bit heavy on the cheese. The crab cake entree came with cole slaw and french fries. Two of us ordered this entree. Both of us agreed that the crab cakes were very salty and the french fries were cold upon arrival. Including one glass of wine at happy hour prices, the tab was $40. You can do better elsewhere for the money.

We love the Chophouse but obviously can't eat there every weekend. We were excited to try their sister restaurant the 801 Grill. It was a nice alternative with slightly better pricing, some different menu choices, and not everything priced as ala carte which was nice. Our portions were quite large and everything we ordered was tasty. All in all we were pleased and will be back. I do hope they offer even more variety in the future and that they can keep this location going.
