To get to M's Pub we walked five short blocks from our downtown Omaha hotel in a cold rain and we don't regret it. The restaurant is in the historic Old Market section. Lots of good restaurants and antique shops. I think the restaurant building was a warehouse in the early days. Very high ceilings.

We were there on a Wednesday night and the place was packed. (We didn't have reservations but they accommodated us quickly.) The menu offers a very wide selection of foods. The Lahvosh -- a Greek-style flatbread with many different toppings to choose -- is a specialty that was more than adequate as an appetizer for two and could have served four. The entrees were excellent and the service was fine. Our server was very helpful and really knew the menu and dishes.

Caution for those concerned: the acoustics are loud and the restrooms are down a flight of stairs.

A wedding rehearsal dinner was being held in an open section of the restaurant near our table. Toasts, speeches and all. Apparently, they don't have a closed room for such events -- which was a testimony to the quality of the food at M's.

We would definitely go again.

What a fun place. We strolled "old town" for about an hour first which was great as there are a lot of shops and plenty of restaurants. We choose M's because of a recommendation from a friend. We were not disappointed. The food was fresh, presented well and we had a great waitress. There was a 30 minute wait so sat at the bar. Liked it. When in Omaha you can eat something besides a steak - it's OK the steak police won't get you. I had the German plate and my wife had a salad with grilled shrimp. O yes, the have steaks as well.

Looking for an Omaha steak but didn't want to pay $75 each for a meal. This place came recommended by a local, and we liked it too. Busy place, cool atmosphere, some outdoor seating on the sidewalk . Filet mignon was so tender, $38 included potato cake, crisp vegetables, a hot roll, and only $2 extra for a side salad. New York steak was also very good, $23 included potato, crisp vegetables, a roll, and a smaller side salad was included. All were very well prepared and tasty. The menu was quite eclectic - grilled carrot hot dog, anyone? Service was excellent as well. The only negative was the dessert - we ordered the Chocolate Marquis and it was billed as chocolate mousse surrounded by soaked ladyfingers and creme anglaise. But the presentation was awful - looked like the chef plopped the mousse on top of 2 ladyfingers and then smashed it all down with a spatula. A squarish looking pile of pudding on a plate. Strange, given the quality and presentation of the rest of the meal!

There’s a great energy at M’s Pub... and the green marble-top bar in the middle of the room is the hub of the action! A great place for relaxing and enjoying a glass of wine (over 200 to choose from) and their AMAZING Baked Brie En Croute Appetizer (puff pastry filled with brie, jalapeno jelly and walnuts, baked and served with sliced apples). It’s a popular lunch and dinner destination, so I recommend reservations. The restaurant is semi-casual, with tables surrounding the bar. Outside seating is available 'in season'... I can’t say enough about M’s, it is always a culinary treat and an opportunity for a good time!

Located in the Old Market, I always go here when in town for business. Nice atmosphere, always packed. They have great wine selections. I recommend the escargot and brie appetizers, to die for... Excellent service, ecellent food, fun place...
