Everything was great, but the tables were too close together.

We were on a cross country trip and stopped in Omaha for the night. We were looking for a place to eat, and headed downtown. Downtown Omaha is surprisingly cute. One section of it, called I believe "Old Market" is especially charming. It reminds me a bit of San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter, without the drunken SDSU students. Same walkable, old timey vibe, cute shops. This is where M's is.

We chose M's Pub on the basis of atmosphere and the look of the menu alone (we were torn between M's and another restaurant, and actually walked out of the first place we were in, and went with this place instead.) As others have mentioned, there are two menus. The "seasonal" (fancy expensive) menu, and the other cheaper menu of upscale pub grub. We went with grub. I had the turkey Reuben, which was very good. There are a lot of sandwiches, burgers, lavosh wraps, salads, plus steaks and seafood on the menu. A funny thing they had on their menu was the "carrot dog" a whole steamed carrot served like a hotdog in a bun w/relish etc. Uh, no, we didn't try it.

The thing that raises this place above average is their surprisingly interesting wine list. They've won a bunch of "Wine Spectator" awards! Just what we needed after a long day on the road. The wines are also well priced, especially for two travelers from L.A.

Service was fine for what it is, which is basically a fancy pub.

We were disappointed at the attitude when we showed up at M's Pub for an early Saturday lunch without a reservation. The young hostess frowned, sighed, and then seated our party of 4. If they can't accommodate or don't want walk-ins, fine, but do it politely. However there were several empty tables while we were there. Luckily our friendly waitress salvaged the day, and we enjoyed the lunch choices. It was a great place to dine in the Old Market. The menu has a lot of variety and the old building has character.
