This was our second visit to GI Forum. The first was more than 20 years ago. I don't remember it being as nice as it is now. It looks like it has had a complete remodel. This place is worth a try for people who don't like authentic Mexican food like the kind you'd get from one of the taco trucks on 24th street (e.g., Dos De Oros). The food is good mind you, just not authentic. We were there on a Friday night about 8:15 pm. The special was enchiladas for $1.50 each. The service was fast (too fast actually) which led me to wonder whether the enchiladas were pre-made. I got three enchiladas and rice and beans that boosted the cost of the plate from $4.50 to over $7. It looked like a lot on a plate, but really isn't if you're hungry. My wife got a tostada al la carte for $2. Neither dish was spicy so we poured the house hot sauce all over them. It made no difference whatsoever. Not even the hot sauce was hot. The margaritas were good and we could taste the tequila. The service was great. I'd recommend this place to people who like mild, unauthentic Mexican food in a pretty cool, clean, well serviced, and well-lit restaurant.
