“Steve saves this hotel's review from flunking”
Reviewed September 15, 2013

This was no castle (although there was an armor in the lobby and the meeting rooms had names like Knights of the round table), still I liked the bed, location and my room seemed clean.
Unfortunately sometimes there is one detail that makes me diminish all the positive:

My cell phone was not working at 100% and my wife could not get her call transferred to my room. I told this to the night personnel, first he denied there was even a problem: "It rings", afterwards he said he was doing everything he could to fix the issue (although he never checked the room's phone). I think this Don (not sure if that was his name) was just lazy and imcompetent.

Next morning I complained to a guy named Steve, here are his words:
"I have worked here for 20 years and I promise even if I have to tear down the wall it will be fixed today". Steve was a man of his word!

I could have graded the hotel higher, but another annoying aspect was that the night shift (after the phone was fixed) kept asking my wife about her relationship to me before transferring her, why do they care?

Final scores:
Steve .................................... 10
Hotel ..................................... 9
Nosey inefficient night staff ......2

Average ...................................7

Hotel was hard to locate and get to, not a lot of signage. Rooms were on the small side, the bathtub felt like it was going to cave in at any moment. There were some eating establishments within walking distance, so that was nice. Pool was extremely cold.

Stopped here for one night. My king bed room was clean and tidy, with clean bedding and towels. It needs updating in places but who really cares. The fitness room was very poor and the owners need to spend some cash here! Only one treadmill (old), two Schwinn bikes (one with a broken seat, the other with a loose pedal) and a weights machine which had broken cables. The pool area was welcoming and the hot tub was hot! Lovely! Overall, good for a nights rest.

Here for work one night--near client site. For the Corp Rate I paid, I didn't expect much, but will be happy to return next time in town. A little hard to get to, this hotel has a Camelot them with knights in armor and such.

My 303 room was huge with large bedroom and separate similar sized sitting room, both with flat screen TVs. Other amenities of note: soft bed, smaller desk, A/C was unit under the windew--a little loud, but worked well.

There were at least 9 theme rooms also--I only saw the names on the doors and the pictures in the lobby.

See my pics of the hotel and room 303.

Breakfast was below average IMO. Normal range of carb loaded foods, two hot items, coffee, juice and waffle maker--always like them.

Staff was friendly enough, no complaints.

I'd stay again, for sure for 1-2 nights, not sure if longer. But corp rate was good.

Overall an average hotel, no major issues. For me the pros were it was close to a couple eating places, close to a run/walk path, and had a large king room. The cons were that it was a little outdated, my sink ran slow, and I could hear the people next to me crystal clear. I did look at Google Maps before coming and that helped a lot in getting to the hotel. Would still recommend for a quick stop.

Stopped here for an overnight on a road trip. As others have stated, it was a little tricky to get to, but once there, it was a welcome sight. Be warned: there is a regular customer who double/triple parks his pick up in the lot.

Rooms were clean, staff was courteous, and the price was right.

We had trouble finding the hotel, but after a bit of patience the area made sense and we found it. Well worth it, clean inside and out. Pool was nice. We had a theme room with Jacuzzi and enjoyed it. Nice breakfast. Highly recommend this out of the way place..
