Our family tries to make a trip up to Omaha, NE at least every other year. We love all that Omaha has to offer, but especially love the Zoo! We have three little ones ranging from 3-6 yrs of age and they all love it. When they were younger we always had to take a stroller because there was SO much to see and SO much walking. But with that being said, there are a few means of getting to the other sides of the zoo if you don't want to walk. However, you can not usually take your stroller on the trains, lifts, or other means of transportation. I will say though, we have always felt safe leaving our stroller at the train station. We don't leave our stuff in the stroller, but we have never had any problems leaving it. The Butterfly Pavilion is awesome, the lift is awesome, it pretty much is a great zoo! The Aquarium and Pavilions are incredible! The kids talk about that zoo all the time!

As far as Zoos go, this is hands down one of the best! There is a wide variety of animals to look at. From the standard giraffes to the exotic animals, they've got a little of everything to cater to everyone's "favorites" The aquarium and butterfly room was tastefully done. Love the different species of penguins featured. They even have a great bridge overpass with largest koi fishes I've ever seen swimming underneath surrounding a monkey island! the little ones can even feed the fishes with the quarter feeder dispenser. The desert dome was huge! Don't be fooled by the size, it's quite an impressive exhibit. the nocturnal world of bats and cave creatures allowed for the folks like me that is curious about life in the dark .. and not have to venture out in the real world to go find it. The designers and creators of the exhibits do a really good job of bringing the guest into the animal's habitat. Even the huge gorillas ... you get to be up close and personal... with a thick plexi glass in between you and them of course. but you can really see how we are so alike and yet so different from them. Will try to return and take my parents one day. if you are in the area, great way to spend 3-4 hrs meandering and letting your imaginations take flight.

Awesome family place to go if you are in the Omaha area. Bring sunscreen and good waking shoes for sure. One of the best zoos in the nation! You get to see every animal there!

This zoo definitely has a lot to see and do and you should plan for a full day. We loved the gorilla exhibit the most. The only down-side is the cost of food, but this is the same for any zoo we've ever been to - the food is always overpriced. One thing I would recommend is the tramway, which goes above the rhinoceros and giraffe exhibits and much more. It can be a bit nerve wracking for those who have a fear of heights, but it is well worth the $3 to at least just take a one way trip across. What a unique view of the zoo.

Kids really enjoyed it. Can take coolers with food. food prices a little high and waited 30 minutes. Go early to get a good parking spot.
