This is our special occasion treat. When I'm hungry for beef, there is no place in Omaha that is better. Honest. All of the cuts are outstanding. I usually choose the filet. It melts in my mouth. But my family likes the ribeye too. There is nothing better than aged beef. If you are visiting Omaha and want to sample great beef, choose the 801. The sides are quite tasty too. Alll of the whipped potato flavors are delicious. The sides are big enough to pass around the table. Great desserts too.The service is lovely: truly fine dining. Love the vintage photos of the Omaha stockyards and the cattle that cover the walls!

Wow! This was a great place for a special night out. The food was outstanding, but the service was even finer. our server, Lea, led us through the menu and the procedure for ordering so that we knew exactly what we were going to get and how much of it we needed. They bring the steaks to your table so you can see what you'll be getting. One of the best places we've ever eaten.

We knew we were in for big money when we walked through the doors of the Paxton Hotel where The Chophouse is located. The ambience is wonderful, very classy. Although we were dressed pretty casually, that was not an issue at all. From soup to nuts - actually from the wine to a beautiful NY Strip and a side of fantastic Boursin Mashed Potatoes - the meal was perfect. The Chophouse serves up everything a la carte so be prepared for a big bill, but you know what? It's worth it!

Reserved a table with the thought of using a groupon that we had purchased however, after seeing the prix fixed menu decided to go that route and save the groupon for another evening. We chose the small filet mignon and the prime rib for entrees and each selected a lettuce wedge and ceasar salad. The mashed cam on both entrees and were great, the vegetables were cooked well and flavorful as well. My filet was probably a little over for medium but in all honesty it would be hard to cook the 5oz piece of meat. Still was a good steak. Prime rib looked a bit under med rare but had great flavor.
To end the meal we selected opposites, a creme brulee and a triple scoop of sorbet made inhouse. They were both fantastic. Overall can't wait to come back and try the lamb which I eyeballed on the main menu and some of the other selections.

The place is pricey but worth the money for a spurge evening. Good table service and attention given throughout the dining experience.
