“Horse drawn cart ride enjoyed by whole family”
Reviewed March 24, 2013

It's such a neat area to walk around. Lots of shops and places to eat. We took a horse drawn cart ride to get an idea as to where we wanted to go. We walked over to the park, but our kids were too small for the slides, which looked like fun. Fed some ducks instead.

“Very Interesting Area of Omaha”
Reviewed March 19, 2013

Our son & family had just been transferred to Omaha. On our first visit we checked out the Old Market area of town, and found it to be a fun place to walk around and window shop and get an idea of what Omaha has to offer. The Visitor's Center is part of this area, and it was a very friendly place, with lots of free brochures and maps, and some very friendly personnel to answer questions and chit-chat. There was free limited-time parking right outside on the street. The gift shop has many books about the general area, and there are other gift items (sweatshirts, T-shirts, etc.) to purchase. We hope to make more visits to Old Town every time we're in Omaha from now on, and try out some of the restaurants and shops. Very nicely renovated area.

“Best to go there with someone who knows their way around”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

We found our way to the Old Market but had a hard time finding a parking spot. Once we did we decided that it wouldn't be wise to try to move the car so we had to walk. Unfortunately the spot where we were able to park wasn't close to anything we wanted to do. Also all the parking is metered so we'd have to keep coming back to feed the meter. Not very handy if you have to walk quite a ways to get to and from the parking spot. There was one store and a lot of bars in the area where we parked. We found a sign with a map and were going to try to find some of the stores we had read about online but decided that we'd never be able to find a parking spot close enough to any of them and it was a very cold and windy day so we left. I'm sure that if we had gone with someone who had experience and knew where to park and where to find the shops we would have enjoyed this a whole lot more.

“Great place for food”
Reviewed March 16, 2013

The Old Market is a town within a town. The buildings house apartments as well as businesses beneath. The businesses are largely food enterprises, clothing businesses, bars, arts and crafts. You can park anywhere and walk to any of the businesses or spend a day in the nearby Gene Leahy Mall. It is within a 15-minute walking distance from the Qwest Center.

“Must go!”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

The old market is always a must do thing while I am in Omaha! My kids love the metal slides, spaghetti works, Ted and Wally's, Hollywood candy, and the multiple shops. If you are ever in Omaha definitely visit the Old Market!!
